I love baked garlic. Remove excess covering ,place in tin foil and cut the tops off and pour olive oil on and wrap and bake or BBQ for 35 minutes. The garlic Snell disappears.

For frying a few cloves I put the knife side ways and press down. The covering practically falls off. Into the garlic press and done.

I've found this works great with certain varieties of garlic, and not at all with others. I'm sure the age and curing time of the garlic makes a big difference as well.

But who like bruised and beat up garlic? Haha

Did you know that cutting your garlic and letting sit for at least a minute or two is much better for you? I guess it helps release some compounds that are healthier in some way. I couldnve searched for details... But I'm chasing a 2 year old around. These few sentences probably took up too much time already.

no, i have never watched martha stewart ever.

i so hate peeling garlic that i googled to see if an easy way and this came up. and wow, is it easy.

mus, basically get two large-ish bowl, one slightly bigger than the other. put the whole bunch in the big one and then smash it with the base of the smaller one. then up turn the smaller one and put it over the garlic in the big one, forming a sort of enclosed ball with the two bowls. then shake and shake and shake as hard as you can for all you are worth.

at least 90% of the cloves should be completely peeled. take out the skin etc and all is good.

one of those 'needful things,'
