Where can one buy Propylene Glycol?

This is a question for the Australian members.

Am in the process of setting up an "Esky-dor" as the latest delivery from the Prez has overflowed my humi. I have read that mixing PG and distilled water can moderate the humidity.

Firstly, where can I buy Propylene Glycol and secondly, how do I set up the Esky to properly maintain humidity with this substance.

Any pointers gladly accepted.

Our local chemist is not a large one! Will give them a go. Was not sure if it was yourself, Sam or Al that had the Eskydor.

Yes I have an eskydor like Sam. I got some PG from the chemist as well, but if you are having problems getting any let me know & I'll email you a place who supplies ready-mixed PG solution.

Go online buddy, I checked out this link and looks the goods. I am waiting to order it through work so it may be a little cheaper, Ben informs me that 500mls will last you a life time....

As suspected I was presented with a very blank look from the local chemist. Will be in Sydney this week so will try a couple of chemists there. Will give the website a go if this draws a blank.

So, what do you do with the PG once you have it? Mix it 50/50 with distilled water and drip it into an oasis?

50/50 is the right mix. Do that once every six months.

Thanks for the advice. Now to go in search of this magical substance. The eskydor was about 80%RH last night and 35%RH this morning! Impossible to moderate :-(

Best place for an oasis is the local arts n crafts store, ask for 'wet' floral foam (florists use it to hold up arrangements and keep the flowers moist as this stuff is like a sponge and holds alot of water and keeps its shape.)and will set back 3 bucks for a brick like block and cut to size

I am not from down under but this could help. Do you all have pharmacies where they fill Prescriptions? If so ask them about propylene glycol.

Why do the Cigars shops(Czar) sell thins stuff?
