Seeing a box with the middle cigar flipped is a 1 in 1500 box (approx) experience. That is a box rejected by the quality controller and meant to be sent back...not sent out.

This box is on a whoooooole different level lol3.gif

And apparently their monkeys are able to see the future... I have had this box for two months

Thats right up there with MARIO ! LOL.

That box code "OPG" - either stands for One Poor Guy - one chap doing all the packing - he's stressed out you see, or it could be "One Poor Gringo" gonna buy this **** !!!!!

Do you get to refuse boxes like that or is it just part of doing business with Cuba?

Just part of doing business.

Factory code/date/mastercase details forwarded to distributor (PCC). They will advise HSA. HSA to inform Tabacuba. Tabacuba to inform factory manager. Factory manager to inform Quality control manager.

The chances of that entire process occurring....Zero lmao.gif

still, by publicly humiliating them, at least you have ensured that in future, you will only receive perfect boxes, great service and a no-hassles open visa.

Tabacuba has obviously commenced trialing monkeys within the packaging department of at least one factory. Apparently the training is in its infancy....but don't worry they will pick it up shortly lol3.gif

Well folks...apparently the below box ....which is the worst presented box I have ever seen since I started in 96....passed quality control rotfl.gif

I want to take those new to cuban cigars slowly through the tell tale signs of a poorly put together box of cigars. In this case....the classic Partagas D4. Look closely as you may miss the subtle nuances.

The Top Layer.

Did you pick it? yes...the bands are slightly misaligned.

Note also there is a cigar missing. No worries....they put in a block of cedar to cover that part. I suspect smoking the cedar block would result in a tight draw.

let's see if Bubbles did any better on the bottom layer?

D4 Bad Day 3.jpg

....yes bubbles did. There is indeed a full row of cigars.....albeit alignment is still a little way off. rotfl.gif

And some people wonder why we check the cigars! When I opened the box this afternoon i called over the warehouse team. We were in tears of laughter lol3.gif

am still in tears. That is priceless!! I laughed for 5 mins when I read that. I still can't read it and keep a straight face ?

True enough, a funny story, but I hope you saved some tears for tears of sadness. The price we pay for cigars in general and CC specifically, this is indeed a huge blemish on their QC. We all know ***t happens, luckily YOUR QC caught it. If I had bought these, or received these by mail I would have been totally PO. Receiving, opening, smelling, visual.... then finally lighting and tasting are all part of the total cigar experience. Thanks for finding there oversight and sharing a funny, yet sad story!

I think thats the roller trying to communicate with the outside, or just a sloppy mistake, but man that's bad.
