something is not right about that seal... other than its placement. the hologram does not appear to be present and the beveled corners at that end of the seal are absent as well.

with the date code of MAR 14 this should have the latest style seal.

the box also appear very worn for its age.

I have seen fake monte 5's for sale in central american shop, they do exist...

I wouldn't be happy if I received that box, but I would like to see what's inside...

It would be very easy to tell for sure after opening the box and inspecting the cigars. High quality fakes wouldn't go into a Monte 5 box.

Habanos SA web site has been down for several days,so I cannot verify the code.

As you can see the hologram and beveled corners are present, and the contents look good.

Looks a new transit seal, last one I had seen was from a 2013 box that had the seal in wrong place. Box completely legit though

Guys, its Cuba...they don't know (or don't care enough to know) their right nostril from their left ass cheek....As a friend of mine said last night, the fact they get the same labels on 25 cigars in one box to all be the same is a minor miracle in itself.

Cigars look OK. If you've smoked a fair number of cigars, you should be able to decide for yourself based on a detailed inspection and sniff test. Cuba is a third world country that is pumping out cigars that are produced by underpaid workers. Do you really think that they are going to worry about all of the details like someone assembling a Bugatti??? Just smoke a cigar and you will know. I would be more worried if it was a 800 dollar box of smokes.

the seal looks good in the new pic, just in the wrong spot... that set off an alarm for me. I've seen so many fakes with seal issues, especially one with the seal loose in the box... anyways, now you get to do the final test.. smoke one and enjoy... ok.gif
