We get snow in Minnesota and smoke outside while the cold winds howl but in the Buffalo NY area, it is a different story.

I have been lucky. Every carpentry job I have taken on this year so far all the customers have let me bring a cigar or my pipe and enjoy inside or enjoying the shade of the decks and garden trellises I have built for them. A few were retirees and non smokers but just enjoy the smell of the smoke and the great conversation. My smoking is often encouraged. The elderly are such a bad influence.

The last place I built a goat barn, and I took the lady some pipe tobacco and NC's for her ceremonies (She is first nations). Next thing you know an elder and a medicine man shows up and a couple of the guys boarding there and we are all puffing away and having a great sit down, talking about knife making and motorcycles. The money sucks but I pick my hours and I smoke whenever I want. Not bad at all.

When I 'm not smoking at work. I am freezing my ass off by the basement door on a chair I made from some branches. or sometimes I wander out to my think rock. A big boulder down by the end of the driveway.

Outside is the only spot for me... Never will be smoking inside as long as I have my wife :-). Also cuts back my smoking in the sub zero temperatures that we get.

That is fine though.... Few years from now when we start looking on the market for our next house I will be looking for a garage where I can do a nice ventilated man cave to set up a nice couch, stereo and TV to escape to.

I have a man cave in the garage where I roast my coffee and smoke cigars. The chair is next to a door where I crack it and then have a small propane heater and an electric heater on each side of me to try to keep it in the upper 50's at least as my garage isn't heated or cooled. I've finally mailed it in and will smoke in my car.

I prefer to smoke outside but the weather here in Sweden makes it problematic so during the cold months (september to may) i smoke at our club lounge here in Uppsala. For christmas i'd like a box of Punch Churchill's

I try to find a few hours a week to smoke at the LCDH here on the island. If not there on my deck when it's not too humid.
