madmarvcr Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 If money is no issue, then BHK52 or CoRo If I have to use my wallet, RASS or Connie 1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
tjohn7 Posted September 27, 2014 Author Posted September 27, 2014 Ah, I see! CC are generally rolled much tighter than NC so I'll smoke a CC PC and a friend will smoke an NC Robusto or Toro and my stick usually will last longer. CCs have definitely taught me the finesse and artistry of the skinny cigar. Yeah, if I switch between a NC and CC, the smoke time definitely goes up with the CC. Partially because of the tighter roll and partially because I slow down to savor the flavors that don't exist with NCs.
tjohn7 Posted September 27, 2014 Author Posted September 27, 2014 If money is no issue, then BHK52 or CoRo If I have to use my wallet, RASS or Connie 1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I would agree with this 100%. I feel like there's much more variability with Cohibas, but when they're on they're great. Everyday smoke I'm going with HDM Epi 2
oliverdst Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 The H Upmann Robusto from the 2007 Leather Travel Humidor packs! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I agree 100% Miles away from HURR
ramon_cojones Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 never had an outstanding connie 1, yet
shlomo Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 The H Upmann Robusto from the 2007 Leather Travel Humidor packs! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk At $50 per cigar.... 1
Maplepie Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 The H Upmann Robusto from the 2007 Leather Travel Humidor packs! well...... if we're going there. Montecristo Robusto 2000 Millenium! Dunhill Cabinetta!!
oliverdst Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 At $50 per cigar.... Wrong. Much cheaper in most of the places.
tjohn7 Posted September 27, 2014 Author Posted September 27, 2014 $50 is pretty steep for a smoke considering most of mine have been around $8-20 per. Any more than that I've had mixed results as I tend to over-hype the cigar in my mind.
JHands Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Epi 2 right out of the box Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
guideright Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Haven't tried all on that list, haves tried a sampler of several - preferences are the JL and CoRo - haven't found an Epi I've liked yet - would like try a PL robo really liked the Encantos
joncat Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Depends on many factors. What time of day for example. What mood am I in. If its earlier in the day just relaxing by the pool Epi2 is my choice. If later in the evening with friends and a Scotch BHK 52. If playing gin with the guys usually rotate between a RyJ Wide Churchill, PSD4 or RASS. I like them all and like to change it up. But if I could only choose one BHK 52. Are we confused yet?
shlomo Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Wrong. Much cheaper in most of the places. At least you were polite about pointing out my possible error.... lol.... I have seen them in the 250-300 range. I bought mine at substantially less when they were initially released, but anyways. Care to PM me on where these might be "much" cheaper? edit: found some in the low 200s. My mistake, but still VERY pricey imo. 1
tjohn7 Posted September 28, 2014 Author Posted September 28, 2014 Do you guys find that the flavor profiles you expect from your favorite robustos translate into the other vitolas of the same marca? I really am liking the HDM Epi 2 and wonder if the other vitolas have more to offer, or if I'm smoking the best that HDM has to offer. Tom

Tom I voted the Boli Royal Corona, but I find it less intense than the PC and CJ - perhaps half between these and the Gigante!? 1
TM-US Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Epi2, RASS and PSD4, when they are on. I have some great D4 and Epi2 right now, still chasing a great RASS box.
Ramrod918 Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 RobT, D4 & PE tie then RASS for me. A few on the list i still wanna try also.
Piligrim Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 There are some, which I like. But if I should choose one it will be D4
JimC Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Voted for RASS but Epi. 2 is very close second for me.
tjohn7 Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 Epi2, RASS and PSD4, when they are on. I have some great D4 and Epi2 right now, still chasing a great RASS box. I feel like that with PSD4 haha. My current box is underwhelming.
tjohn7 Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 After nearly a week of having this thread up, the results are not all that surprising. I was expecting to see RASS, PSD4, HDM Epi 2, and CoRo taking the top spots. I am surprised that JL Seleccion No. 2 didn't fare better, but a larger sample size may boost its numbers. Thanks for the replies!
Lant63 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Had a RASS last night. I enjoyed it. Still like the superiores better. I need to try a coro soon though. Sent by telepathic super powers -Stogie Boy 1
