For me it's RASS > CoRo > Connie 1

Unlike others, I don't mind young RASS (young being 1-2 yrs old). Don't have the patience to age them. CoRos on the other hand need some time.

Can't stand PSD4 or JLS2, and VR does nothing for me.

I also keep some HdM Epi2 and Boli RCs for variety, but they fall just short of being "favorites."

My favorites have always been the PSD4 and RASS but my recent purchases of the HdM and JL have turned out quite nicely as well.

When they are at the top of their game, CoRo are amazing. But they aren't, so aged RASS and the 2007 PL robustos do very well by me

I agree with 72.5% of these remarks.

HURR, Boli RC & PSD4

I could live on just these three cigars and be happy if Pres picked them out.

Your list missing some notables, especially since it is not an actual robust list, but of cigars that are close.

RyJ Ex 4

Monte PE

Trini Rob t

Quinteros whatever it's called....

Vegueros new one....

Upmann robust el

I'm sure there are others, ESPECIALLY if including regionals and limiteds.

My mistake, Shlomo. Tried to add in the ones I could. I kept the LE and REs out of it. Which ones do you favor?

Hpi 2 just cause it is the most consistant and I don't tire of the flavors (at least not yet) but the Behike and CoRo if on are real good.

Had a PSD4 tonight and it did not impress. Was from NOV 13 but nowhere near the complexity of the HDM Epi 2.

Of the ones listed...

BRC, ERDM CS, Conn. 1, Upmann RR, Epi 2, CoRo, Monte PE, SLR Regios, BHK 52, PL Rob., RASS, Famoso, PSD4, RyJ SC,

I have not had an Upmann Robusto nor an RyJ Ex 4 (in a very long time). I have not had enough Trini Robusto T to form a strong opinion, but the ones I had were generally not to my liking.

If I never have a JL 2 again, it will be too soon. I am still tasting the putridness fro the last **** rolled, urine dipped, vomit filled cigar. I don't "hate" many cigars, the JL 2 is one I hate though.

Ask me tomorrow and I have little doubt this list will change...

Big Monte PE fan also, CoRo, HURR... actually, I like them all. I only hate the Famosos, but the ones I have are not very good. I am sure I would like them if I had an HQ box from Rob.

This is kind of like asking which of your children is your favorite.....depends on the day and their behavior daydream.gif

That said I tend to smoke the RASS, CoRo, and PSD4, with the occasional HdM Epi #2, JL #2 and BRC in the Robusto format. HU Connie #1, ERDM CS for the Hermoso #4's

Not even going to go into the EL, RE and other variants of approximate size though could probably name a few I enjoy....of course your mileage may vary.

I don't think there is a bad one. Regular production that is; I don't smoke EL'S or RE's. If I had to pick just one then I'd have to take the connie 1

PSD#4 difficult to beat when they are good, followed by RASS.

Tough to choose as there's lots of decent cigars on the list. The ones I like are the Epi 2, Trini Robusto T, PSD4, Monte PE, SLR Regios & VR Famosos. But I voted for the RyJ Ex 4 coz it was my first Robusto box purchase and when they are "on" they are awesome!

All things I'd love to know, as I'm transitioning into more robustos as I leave the DC vitola (don't have 1.5 hrs to spend).

Thanks!

Tom

You can smoke a Cuban DC in 1.5 hours!? That's an amazing record (and awfully fast).

I chose the RASS because, although it needs a couple of years to open up, I have found it to be one of the more consistent CCs. The flavor is so complex that it defies description. It's got that rustic quality that I tend to prefer.

I will have to give a nod to the Por Larranaga Robustos de Larranaga from 2007 - this thing is like sweetened floral tea with touches of wood, slight cream and coffee. Too bad it's RE - I could buy these things regularly.

Still waiting to try the PL Picadores. It could unseat RASS as my go-to Robusto/Hermoso

How would you rank a young RASS?

I believe you answered your own question.

2 year minimum from boxcode for me.

Haha hell no! I meant transitioning from NC DC, to CCs. I'm trying out Rob's DC/Piramide sampler, but mostly will be smoking smaller vitolas. My PSD4 from last night took me an hour and a half! tongue.png

Ah, I see! CC are generally rolled much tighter than NC so I'll smoke a CC PC and a friend will smoke an NC Robusto or Toro and my stick usually will last longer.

CCs have definitely taught me the finesse and artistry of the skinny cigar.

I'm not a big fan of the vitolas and like the hermoso #4 less than the robusto

That said I'll take a CORO with some time and then a RASS first. The HU Connie #1I got because of the chatter on this board last summer are pretty damn good.
