Where the Whiskey/Rye/Bourbon your drinking may really come from

Not surprising really. Kind of how it is these days. Found a site that sells table top distillers might give that a shot. Used to make some meanass shine back in the day. Might try a safer approach.

Also scary is a newish company called "Terressentia" they remove as they say the need for traditional filtration, distilation and barrel aging to creat a pure spirit. Then the white coats do the magic to creat a customers dream spirit. Easy to say no one will go for Frankenstein spirits but they are already winning awards. If the movement is toward marketing to a created taste in a visual package then that's what these cats do.

Its no wonder home brewing and now spirits....which I have also seen people making their own now. Big breweries and distillers buy names, move the small guys, change the recipes and seem to have lost the personal touch of the aura of crafting your own brand from scratch. How do some react to the article? Basically I take away "It's ok to lie to people about your product because the barriers to market entry are so large." http://chuckcowdery.blogspot.com/2014/07/im-not-bad-guy-here.html

The proliferation of "boutique" makers of bourbon, rye and whiskey are due to the easy availability of distilled product from producers like LDI, as well as marketing firms that will do all of your required ATF and FTC paperwork.

These articles expose these "manufacturers" for what they really are, marketers with no real creative writing input in their product.

I hope the market catches on to these and reacts accordingly. Master distillers and blenders like Jim Rutledge deserve more recognition for their talent at producing a truly great end product.
