headstand Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Album: Hotel California Not a concert goer unless you include orchestral music - love some Beethoven. Desperately wanted to join my older brother and his friends when the drove to Montreal for a Queen concert, but for some reason he refused to have me tag along...
headstand Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 First album (well, cassette tape) was Creedence Clearwater Revival around 1972. First concert I recall was Yes, Peter Frampton, Gentle Giant, and Gary Wright at Balboa Stadium in San Diego in the mid-'70s. I trust that Yes was awesome... Fragile is a big feature of my road trip mix.
Maplepie Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 1st album ... guess who --- wheatfield soul ahhhhhhhhh. like a true Canadian. 1
Vetteman Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 1st album was Meet the Beatles. 1st real concert was Cream at Madison Square Garden 11/68. I saw The Parliaments (George Clinton) perform at my high school before that but that wasn't really a concert.
Maplepie Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Album: Hotel California Not a concert goer unless you include orchestral music but many bands put on a very nice theatrical appearance, too! the energy is visible as well as audible in a rock, etc concert Take for example... Stone Temple Pilots live. They're NOTHING like their recorded selves

I have a low visual stimulation threshold - anything more than liner notes gets me in a sorry state. A
saintsmokealot Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 First album that was gifted to me was Beastie Boys Licensed to Ill. First one I purchased was N.W.A. Straight Outta Compton. Truly can't remember my first concert being raised ironically by hippies in New Orleans.

Habana Mike Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 It was an awesome contcert. I was also able to see him another 4 times since then (the last one being about 10 years ago. All great shows. B.B. King is still touring! Next show in Vegas Friday night. I've had the chance to see him several times, most recently just a few years ago at Chastain with George Thorogood. Cool to see those two trade licks.
Habana Mike Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I trust that Yes was awesome... Fragile is a big feature of my road trip mix. Yes, yes they were Caught them a couple more times as well. Always enjoyed their albums, shows, stage scenery and the artwork.
Maplepie Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 B.B. King is still touring! Next show in Vegas Friday night. yeaaaa.... same with Thorogood and the Destroyers. And Mick Jagger... Oh, don't forget Axl Rose. But they're definitely not what they used to be. those who didn't turn fat, became a walking piece of horrifying leather.

dvickery Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 ahhhhhhhhh. like a true Canadian. jeremy wheatfield soul was in the .99 cent bin at the time ( back then ... albums went into the clearance bin when they were about 6 months old ) ... "friends of mine " was worth the price of admission in and of itself ... pretty " trippy " tune back then . derrek 1
