Steve83 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Hi all, I'm a new member of FOH and am enjoying learning more about great cigars! My question is... me and a few mates are planning a cigar get together to sample a couple of decent cigars with some good beer and wine. Which two cigars would you recommend to a group of guys who are beginners/relatively new to the world of Cuban cigars? Thanks to all in advance for your suggestions. Steve
Mckucci Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Are you new to Cigars, or just Cuban cigars?
ramon_cojones Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 anything from montecristo and hoyo in that case
Steve83 Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 Cigars in general. I typically will smoke say 4-5 a year, something like a Punch or R&J petit.
... Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 If you have to go for unaged (fresh) stock, HDM Epicure No2 and Bolivar petit corona should be reasonably priced, quite different and interesting... amongst countless options
Steve83 Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 Many thanks. Countless options is about right! :-)

Here are a few of the cigars I would suggest starting out with. All of which are relatively inexpensive. They are all very different in flavor profiles, so it will give you a good range to find what you like! H.Uppman Half Corona MonteCristo #2 Partagas Serie D #4 RyJ Short Churchhills Vegas Robaina - Familiar Cohiba - Siglo ii Enjoy! 1
theholmesmob Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Personally, I'd be focussing on minuto and petit corona sized cigars as they don't 'last forever' and don't become a 'chore' to smoke!

X2. Something like Monte 4, RASCC, Parti Shorts. Have enough of each so that each of you can try two or even all three in a 3-4 hour get together.
jerryg05495 Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 I think you can't go wrong with an HdM Epicure 2 as one of your choices
Steve83 Posted September 17, 2014 Author Posted September 17, 2014 Thank you. The HdM Epicure 2 is going on the list. Thanks everyone for your help!
