CigarEnthusiast Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I'm looking for suggestions on a short smoke that is shorter than that of a PC. Something along the lines of 15 minutes to 30 minutes, while smoking slowly. I'm a slow smoker, which complicates my predicament because I'm always short on time. I'm mostly eyeing clubs or pantelas. I am looking for a decent stick that won't break the bank. I was looking at Cohiba clubs, pantelas, Montecristo, et cetera, but I was just curious if there were better alternatives (which I know there are, but I'm not sure which). Thanks for reading! I appreciate any thoughts, opinions, suggestions, et cetera, so please do not be shy!
Maplepie Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 RyJ Petit Julieta, ERdM Demi Tasse, Montecristo Joyita All good ones. 1
CigarEnthusiast Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 RyJ Petit Julieta, ERdM Demi Tasse, Montecristo Joyita All good ones. Thanks for the quick response! I love a BPC. By any chance does Bolivar produce anything that is in short in length and that is decent?
ramon_cojones Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 the only one I smoke that meets your criteria is the erdm demi tasse which is great but overpriced, i still enjoy them when i want a 25 min smoke also slightly larger but smaller than bpc are rg perlas, siglo i, partagas shorts and rascc, but these take me 45 minutes or more since I am a slow smoker

I was thinking of trying some clubs, but I hear they aren't too good or worth the coin.
Maplepie Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Thanks for the quick response! that's what i get paid for! Short Bolivars are ridiculously rare and idolised now. The Demi Tasse and Belevederes are HtF as all hell. Try the Bolivar 3s? They're expensive but very easy to carry around and lasts 45-60 minutes. 1
Pedro2486 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Thanks for the quick response! I love a BPC. By any chance does Bolivar produce anything that is in short in length and that is decent? Bolivar corona junior? It's a minuto so smoking time could be 20-40 mins 1
Maplepie Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Bolivar corona junior? It's a minuto so smoking time could be 20-40 mins oh Peddler... we have such different times. a cigarillo can last me 20 minutes when stretched. Those minutos last me a bloody hour!

Dude I'm at about 40-60 mins for one too. Based an estimate on how fast a lot of posters say they tear through them. Plus everyone needs more minutos 1
CigarEnthusiast Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 Thanks for all the suggestions guys! Just curious anyone ever try the club or panetela sized sticks?

Plus everyone needs more minutos ah! so people find you a freak as well? I get funny looks when i tell that to people Just curious anyone ever try the club or panetela sized sticks? I keep a pack of Montecristo Minis in my cigar caddy when i want a 15-30 minute smoke and have a small break. I do like the Montecristo Blue as i find them better than the Cohiba Clubs and significantly cheaper. They're made with 100% Cuban tobacco in the EU "Under Authorisation of Habanos SA". They bear a nice pipe sensation to them. Beautifully rolled and almost always nubbable

Smallclub Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Clubs, minis, etc, are crap that burn hot. I'd rather smoke the first third of a JLPiedra petit cazadore, or even cheaper, a small bowl of first class tobacco in a corn cob pipe or a group 1 or group 2 briar pipe…
Maplepie Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Clubs, minis, etc, are crap that burn hot. I'd rather smoke the first third of a JLPiedra petit cazadore, or even cheaper, a small bowl of first class tobacco in a corn cob pipe or a group 1 or group 2 briar pipe… one thing i've done before is smoke two at a time. It felt annoying but it really helped with the burning hot problem. lasted a good 20% longer temporally. also. 2x on the tobacco pipes. $20 of a Davidoff Blue lasts something ridiculous like 50-75 corn cob bowls. but they're just so annoying to clean and break up. perhaps i'm just annoyingly lazy 1

I'd rather smoke the first third of a JLPiedra petit cazadore, or even cheaper, a small bowl of first class tobacco in a corn cob pipe or a group 1 or group 2 briar pipe… I actually tried to smoke pipe, but I have a difficult time keeping it lit and enjoying it. Pipe smoking is an art that I have not mastered. But I do have a few corncobs and some tobacco.
Cisco Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 No love here for the Partagas Chicos? I like the first third and if you take shorter puffs you can prevent them from getting too hot, though I usually pitch the cigar into the last third. I also enjoy HdM du Maire. Pixa Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Yeah I like the partagas chicos the quintero ones are quite nice as well

Upmann Epicures. Something to think about. 1
nikesupremedunk Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I think half coronas are your best bet. They are around a 30-40 minute smoke for me. I notice I smoke mostly minutos now because I don't even have time for a robusto. My favorite is probably the Monte 5's, followed by Reyes, RASCC, HUHC & Shorts. I honestly think Minutos are the flavor bombs of most marcas as they are the most concentrated. The trade off is obviously that it's a shorter smoke when you want to enjoy it for an hour or two. Next box I'm going to grab is going to be SCdLH Principes for the winter, heard great things about those as well.
ogus Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 What he said. You can always relight after the Parti short has been sitting half smoked teasing you a while.
Mckucci Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I always have a box of Cohiba pantelas in my humidor... They are perfect for a morning smoke with your coffee, or even a quick stick on a chilly day.. For me, it takes about 15 minutes, maybe 20 if I really stretch it out. I'm not a quick smoker either.
