Webbo Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Does anyone have any experience with these, am thinking of a pair in kangaroo. Thanks
dicko Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I have two pairs, although both are in yearling leather. Look equally great with jeans, chinos or suit pants. Last forever although you need to replace the leather sole every 2-3 years (with regular wear). consider a "toppy" sole or the comfort craftsman for durability although I like the all leather http://www.styleforum.net/t/21179/rm-williams-boots-everything-you-wanted-to-know
Fuzz Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Roo leather is fantastic. Most of my dress shoes are roo leather.
theholmesmob Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Like Dicko, have two pairs. These boots are timeless and just as importantly, very comfortable. Although pricey, quality is outstanding. I went for the comfort model and could not be happier.
Lotusguy Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 What is the deal with Aussies and boots? Genuine question - not a snide remark. In my neck of the woods you basically never see anyone wearing boots at all...
El Presidente Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 What is the deal with Aussies and boots? Genuine question - not a snide remark. In my neck of the woods you basically never see anyone wearing boots at all... Goes back to the outback persona. RM Williams is an iconic brand here. Quite fashionable. Look after a pair of boots and they will last a decade or more. You can dress them up or down or have different sets for daily wear, going out etc. I have 5 pairs from RM Williams to Crocodile to Ostrich to Python. 1
Fuzz Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I have a pair of boots (not RMW, though) from 1993. Been through a lot over the years, and only 6 months ago did the sole separate from the boot. I guess I could get them to re-glue a new sole on, but the leather is pretty worn, so I'm looking for a new pair now. Maybe I'll buy a pair of RMW.
tmc123 Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 I have a pair for going out and a pair I wear to work which were my fathers, they look incredible after decades of service. Like all good leather products they get better the more you use them. Every young bloke should have a pair of RM boots and an RM belt. I prefer the rubber sole as the leather sole can be slippery if you wear them outdoors in wet conditions.

Riosofmercedes.com boots, Texas style, not just for cowboys! And their recrafting department is the best!
polarbear Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 My Oliver AT work boots are the most comfortable footwear I own I'm in them at least 6 days a week for anything up to 18 hours at a time Every Aussie should own a decent pair of boots, regardless of the style

Awesome work boots, about half the weight and a heap cooler than the ATs, and with the same safety specs

Awesome work boots, about half the weight and a heap cooler than the ATs, and with the same safety specs I've gotta have the steel caps for work, plus I love the zip up model as they're easier to get on and off at an air port but you're right. Great boots. I wont buy any other ever again Australian Made as well

My argument is that they have the same AUNZ safety standard as steelcaps - essentially the same strength etc.

My argument is that they have the same AUNZ safety standard as steelcaps - essentially the same strength etc. I work with too many heavy things to not go with steelies. I'm hoping Oliver join other manufacturers in the future and go with Carbon Fiber caps in their newer models to make passing through airport security easie

They have a composite toecap - fibreglass/carbon fibre, same impact rating as the steel toecap
