03 SLR A from a cab. Cant remember code off hand and the rest of the cab is stored in a converted freezer in my office. This particular cigar was strong as balls compared to others in the cab. Just sm

I'd wager 90%+ of the time something is claimed as plume it is actually mold.

Most definitely not plume. Wipe those down before it spreads

I've experienced the same shpeel at a bnm here in Toronto where the girl tried to sell me some RG Perlas with spots that were clearly mold but I knew better and asked her to pick me two different ones from the box without "plume" then I said btw that's not plume but thank you anyways. I was pretty dissapointed but can't blame her as I can tell she wasn't the bnm employee-type that actually knew their stuff. Never went back again.

theres nothing wrong with mold before it gets crazy.... usually its harmless

it happens to all of us.. but its mold not plume..

LOL

plume is a unicorn most of us wont see it...

and if its mold its usually harmless so wipe it off... and do not freak out....!!!

this must be educational for alot of us.

Thanks Rob

Oh in Cuba they often give cigars a blast of humidity/moisture and over prep them before they get sent off to the distributers

sometimes this ends up with some of that fresh mold (white spots) sometimes it turns out as cracking of feet or a mushrooming affect on cigars.

The white spots are a wiping off to remedy.

The exploding feet permanent.

Either way they are usually salvagable.. just dont freak out

99.999999 times out of a 100 its not going to be plume.

There was a gentleman who had a cabinet of Aged Bolivar Corona Extra's in the trading room at one point. The box was absolutely loaded with Plume and was probably one of the most amazing boxes I have ever seen. Unfortunately it is no longer in the forum.
