Lasabar
For me it was mainly the cigar and the situation. I had bought a CoRo 3-pack years ago. The 3-pack with the Cohiba name made the cigars about $20 a stick. Add to that the recommended wait time to smoke these it was tough to sit on them for a few years (only 2 made it to three years). Cut to a bachelor party in Las Vegas, table service at the swanky gentleman's club and ladies all around us at our table. That $20 cigar with few years of sitting at that club made the $20 WELL WORTH IT..... BUT, now I have the 3rd one still and can't come to smoke it in my normal rotation for I know how much it cost me at the time.
bob25
I have tried the Behike 54 just to know what all the fuss is about and it was one of the best cigars I have tried so far.
godpheonix
i think you're all forgetting something important. usually the high price point of a stick as everything to do with availability\rare batches of aged tobacco..so forth and not necessarely taste. the only reason your paying high prices for certain padrons or behikes etc...is that they are coming out in small batches a year so not easily obtainable for anyone. now that does not mean they don't have something to offer more than a 5-10$ stick, for the most part the ones i have smoked at those high prices didn't disappoint, a few though were far from great! as for the Padron 80th 1926 ann...its one of the smoothest and most flavorful cigar i've had. mine you they got age on them! also Monti Grand Edmundo and siglo V are stunning!! which is probably around 20$ a stick as well. BHK don't come in small batches. They're everywhere, online and B&Ms, in quantities.

I wasn't feeling that good that day, it was raining a little, my wife was a little demanding, and so forth, I didn't think it was worth it.... But on another day, maybe in Vegas at the club with a few gin and tonics in front of me and beautiful creatures walking around, that CoRo might have been amazing for the price. Plus 20 or 32 for that matter means nothing to you when on vacation in most cases. I wouldn't buy a box of CoRos at 32 a stick, but a single at any given day under the right conditions, sure, why not.
armmmmm
I think one of the major reasons people rave about Padrons (other than the fact that the 64's and 26's are tasty), is that they are consistent. Having piece of mind when spending $15 on a stick is sometimes worth the price knowing you're almost guaranteed a great experience.

Spartan
I've been consistently impressed with the three listed below. Damn shame that I couldn't add the Behike 52/54 and the Piramide Extra, just too many lackluster performances. joeypots
I'm now enjoying the fruit of many years of buying and holding cuban cigars. I have been disappointed by many high priced and much hyped Cuban cigars but have been deeply impressed by many regular production Cuban cigars that have come to life after a good sleep in the humidor. 20$ a stick is 500$ a box. That's too much, much too much for me. Good quality, well kept, and aged regular production get my vote. For example, a box of '08 COROs are worth way more than 20$ a stick, but I doubt I'd sell them. Same with BCGs, PLPCs, MC#2s, Mag 46s, and quite a few more. If I were starting out in the hobby I'd forgo the high end stuff, buy a a big cooler and buy more regular production than I smoke. The well known Hong Kong cigar guy wrote years ago that one could accumulate a first rate cigar cellar in five years with Bolivar cigars alone. For the most part I agree with him on that.
