Noooo. This isn't a thread about how Rob gives away free cigars with box purchases when we pay his 5th mortgage off.

This is about the bad kind: overfilled cigars. But this time, it was even more stupid because it was underfilled, too. Well... Lightly under-filled. It wasn't this underfilled:

But it was underfilled enough to make a change in burn. The draw was spot on, though. I felt around half smoking it and it turns out that there was a unique feature of this cigar that was characteristic of a plug. Felt weird so when the flavours started to turn (expected it to be decently long when that happened as it was mildly underfilled), i put it out and unrolled it.

Here's what i found. See how there's just a random short piece of leaf shoved near the end of the smoke? I took them side by side with the unburnt part. IF i got to that part of the cigar, would the taste just be drastically changed because of this random extra filler that measured around 3 cm in length? I smoked the cigar up to 4cm in length. Marc: you have to know something about this... thinking.gif

What the hell is up with that!?

that was a QdO Asia Regional. i pitched the bloody thing and 5 minutes late i decided a picture was necessary lol3.gif

Worst underfilled cigar i've had. I should've followed LordA's advice and just rerolled it.

Funny thing is i check the foot every time i smoke it to predict the burn pattern. But the two times i was slacking on checking the feet, i got two underfilled cigars i couldn't deal with.

Bundwallah was there both times, too...! Note to self, when miniherfing with Frank............ lookaround.gif

I've watched a lot of rolling videos, seen many add short pieces, but usually to fix your problem... but I think I would've kept smoking it?

naaaaah, got a tad too sour near the end for me. underfilled a decent bit, but as i said: not enough to cause a major problem

If they extended that small piece longer, that would've fixed the problem 90%! shame it was 2 cm instead of the 20cm it needed to be

I am so glad you retrieved it and shot pix... it looks like something I once bought sourced out of Mexico... or brought back from Honduras. Mind you, I've had excellent smokes from either place, but yeah. Flat disgusting. I would have never thought of re-rollong a substandard roll... is there a trick to it? Usually I just curse myself for not getting a good CC and take it as a lesson learned...

By the way... I looked at the pix of you holding it (before you unrolled it) and thought "That is just ugly." Sorry, but it was almost comical.

lemme go dig up the post Lord A had on it a while back. i have it book marked somewhere here...

keep in mind the two cigars pictured here are two different ones. i just wanted to show the RIDICULOUSLY underfilled one before showing the one i was actually referring to.

yea, don't worry. Someone actually had to SMELL it.

I was unrolling it on a park bench and was surprised at the lack of smell. Casually picking it apart and was like: huh. this is great!

I then realised WHY it didn't smell like anything. The wind was blowing it onto the face of this lesbian couple and their daughter. The daughter complained that there was a fishy smell and only when they got up to leave did i realise it was the odour from my unrolled cigar that they were smelling...

I felt so bad......... no.gif

You cheeky bugger...

I have said it before on the forum but if I ever get a stick that's underfilled and I want to continue smoking it, I squeeze it near the band and restrict the air flow. Can render a spongy mess into something smokable.
