Ton of LGC DNA that needs to meld. Could have legs for decades. Flavors just starting to come out after 2 1/2 years. Not touching any more of mine for at least 2-3 years. 1

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I agree with them young. On the caveat that everyone is going to have different tastes. I like my cigars to be aggressive, a young 46 gives me a delicious mongrel but still very identifiable Upmann coffee and spice. I think it is a shame when these mellow. Although I'm sure I'm a minority. I also like young Cohiba Siglo 1-5 and even an occasional blasphemous young PLPC. 1

Or are none worth smoking like that? Thanks You could easily get a box of great Cuban cigars that are too moist to smoke. I like Partagas PSD#4s and Hoyo Epi #1s young. What ever you get, store them below 70 degrees F and well below 65% RH, I'd go with 60%, for at least a month. A good rule of thumb is to smoke the cigar when the band is a bit loose on the cigar. Wet, young Cuban cigars are harsh and bitter and that's why so many people who have only had a wet young Cuban cigar say they don't like Cuban cigars. JMHO. 2
Chas.Alpha Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 My 2 cents: I have purchased three of the Bolivar PC (PSP) boxes Rob's had up in April/May with 2019 box codes and I have 1.5 boxes left! 30 days down and they're terrific. The VR Famosos I got 3 months ago (2019 box) are also great ROTT. And all of you keep telling me that the PLPC's are going to get even better...
asudevil08 Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 I recently smoked a very young Hoyo De Monterrey Rio Seco (ENE 20), and my sweet lord, it was beautiful. After light up, the wrapper was very sweet - almost made me think it was flavored. Virtually no signs of youthful tobacco, no ammonia on the retrohale, very creamy smoke. Lots of vanilla, cookies, caramel. This cigar gave me hopes for whats possible for Cuba. 1
Connoisseur Kim Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Connie A and Mag 46 are one of the good young CCs IMHO. For Connie A, it wasn't harsh at all despite of being aged 1yr only. ?
Zaxeiler Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I can only hope the Monte 4s smoke decent when young. My first 24:24 purchase will be arriving this week, and while I’ll put them away to stabilize and age, I won’t be able to resist smoking one ROTT. 1
StogieSteve23 Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Connie 1 & A come to mind along with the new QDO Coronas. Short de Punch have all been fantastic since release as well. If you have a chance to get a 2019 box of VR Famosos, go for it. 1
dshot Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 Connie A VR Famosos RyJ Churchills Monte 4s Partagas D4 Partagas P2 These above have been treating me well young. I'd say P2's from last year as the standout. Had fresh tubo's in Cuba excellent. Got a 10 box here was superb ROTT. Connie A as well is a close second. I blew through a very fresh box quickly. Excellent smoke young. 1

Sir Diggamus Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 I love the diversity of answers here. My thought is that most Partagas smoke very well young. They show a depth and progression of flavors that many younger cigars can't for some time. Most notably the Serie D no 4, Serie P no 2, and Shorts are all cigars I really like with only months on the box code. Like others, I also enjoy the Mag 46 young. I think storage is very important factor too. Unless you personally know how a certain store cares for the cigars they sell they could easily be over or under-humidified. Just three to six weeks in a stable environment can make worlds of difference in flavor, for cigars that are good young and with age. No matter what you prefer in flavor profile, stable storage is critical to a great experience with a cigar.
