vashinred Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 (edited) Recently my Father passed and I inherited a bunch of cigars. Some are quite good and rare, some good south American expensive ones and then a untouched and I am told high priced/Quality 1994 Cuban Habanos limited edition Humidifier. http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brand.aspx?brand=Habanos The first one. Now, I am not too crafty with Cigars, I enjoy them with wine which I inherited a <moderated> of and thats about it. I feel it would be a crime to smoke these and they are a full set. What would be the best place sell these or find out who would buy them? Are they even legal to sell on maybe ebay or to a Cigar Store? What would you do? Edited July 17, 2014 by Fuzz Language
oliverdst Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 If you are not and do not intend to be an avid cigar smoker I would sell them. Ocasional and/or begginers may not tell the diference between them and other good cigars, IMO.It will be easily sold in an auction.I will PM you.
Puros Y Vino Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Sorry about your father. As far as what you posted, it is a highly sought after item. However, as this is your first ever post to FOH expect a truckload of skepticism. You've posted what appears to be a cleaned up photo. If you have this humidor in your possession, take a raw picture of it on a table or desk. Sales are not permitted on FOH. From your post it looks like you want some advice on how to proceed. If you're in the US. Legal sales are out. Ebay doesn't permit tobacco sales. You might be able to find a private buyer. I'm sure you'll get some PM's on this too. IMO. If this is truly in your possession, take a real photo of it. There are many wise folks here that can point you in the right direction. Hopefully in private, not publicly. I must admit. I tempted to remove this post. But lets' see how this plays out shall we?

mikek Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Hello I dont know where your located at but I'm shure the person that buys them is go'n to want to see them first hand! If they are in good shape as in the picture, they are definatly worth some dough! Good Luck!
Guyman1966 Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 interested to see where this goes feels a lot like an email someone sent me from Nigeria.
vashinred Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 Yes the Photo is some random I found doing research. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2kng4zdIc_LX1VxeDM0SGN2VjA/edit?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2kng4zdIc_LWEdDaUhvSy1xWTA/edit?usp=sharing In other random questions, I also have a 6-7ft tall wood Indian, 20+ years old. Some random Cigar shop owner offered me a grand. Any ideas? https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2kng4zdIc_LQ3ZrSld4Z1hkTUU/edit?usp=sharing

vashinred Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 This should fetch you a pretty penny. Good luck How much are we talking? A man offered 40$-60$ each cigar but he has no idea about the rarity.
Guyman1966 Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 what is the condition of the cigars? were they well kept? And, your Indian looks like a chick I used to date. LOL

LOL In the humidifier inside a Humidifier stocked with running distilled water for at least 15 years in my father basement/Wine celler at a cool 60 degrees. Indian is a <moderated>, so many girls would go down the stairs and freak the hell out. Another guy offered me a 500-1000$ for the Indian. I would love to keep it but I do not have the space at all nor means to move it. Edited July 17, 2014 by Fuzz Language
almudawi Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 How much are we talking? A man offered 40$-60$ each cigar but he has no idea about the rarity. These are super rare. Holy Grail type. These were produced in a super limited run in 1994 to commemorate the establishment of Habanos SA. Depends on the condition of the cigars & humidor on hand. If both were well kept you are looking at somewhere between $6500 and $10,500. Approach a cigar auctioneer (there's only one in London). You'll get a proper estimation and return.
polarbear Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Perhaps contact Ajay Patel at La Casa Del Habano in London in regards to this I know he has one of these humidors in stock so he would prob be the best person to talk to in regards to moving it
Habana Mike Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 If you google 'Habanos 1994 Humidor' you might find an example went for $7200 on auction in 2009, $160/stick! Good luck with it.
oliverdst Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 I doubt you will have more than the auction. If you sell to a seller he will need to profit, of course, so the best scenario would be to sell to a costumer.

cybermadhatter Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Nice pick up, and sorry for your loss. I have seen these go as high as $220 a stick, as singles Figure between $160-$200, if in good condition. But a buyer who buys the entire load gets that humidor too. 1
mncz Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Oh, my. Sorry for your loss. Very exciting to see this post. Thanks for sharing and take these guys' word. Anytime I see the words Holy Grail, I am grateful for having learned of the items' existence. Gives me something to keep an eye out for.
AndrewNR Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Wow. Dude that statue too.. Just Wow. Hope it all goes to a collector who appreciates it as much as your father would have and we all do seeing it. Sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing.
Clynch Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Amazing humidor. I'd love to get my hands on a 1994 sometime Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sheppsea Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Has anyone ever smoked one of these sticks? Or is it just something you would just buy to own rather than ever have any intention of smoking it? I'm not sure if I even had the £1,000s required I would smoke one, I just can't see how it would ever be something but 'not worth the price' at that point
