rickmccarey Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I used to be into to chew/dip whatever user when I was in college. Skoal/Copenhagen/Redman whatever. My roommate was huge into it. I really enjoyed it as a non-smoker I loved the nic rush. I'm guilty of spit bottles collecting around the house (but it was college, who cares ). I quit and won't go back. It was hard for me to quit it was addicting , the main reason for quitting was I was noticing receding gum line and my teeth staying in are more important. Although I do miss it from time to time.

Maplepie Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 One thing i've started doing on days where I get 3 hours of sleep is chew nicotine gum. That stuff gives you quite a big boost when working. Lasts around 2 hours and then you crash. But the good part is that they recommend you not to chew more than 20 pieces a day. TWENTY. The estimated LD50 for nicotine is 500mg. One cigarette is 1mg. Can you believe that!? I think i've had 7 in a day before to get me through. But I think I prefer sleep more... Just don't make it a habit. Plus nicotine itself isn't a carcinogen by any stretch of the imagination.
topdiesel Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I quit chewing 10 years ago. Chewed a can of Copenhagen Long Cut or Snuff every day for 15 years. I swear, once you get used to the flavor and intensity Copenhagen tastes almost like you are sucking on Beef Jerky. I have used pretty much every form of tobacco known to man and Copenhagen is the only thing that I have quit using and still think about it all the time. For me it is the most addictive nicotine delivery system known to man. If you don't chew, I would not recommend getting started unless you are really commited. 1
sengjc Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 What's "dipping" in this context? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Rye Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 What's "dipping" in this context? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD Dipping into a tin for a pinch of juicy tobacco. Just the thought is enough to get one salivating!
Fosgate Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 When I used to smoke cigarettes I got a job where I could not smoke in company vehicles so I switched to dipping. I loved Copenhagen long cut and felt it was like a good steak. However, I didn't like having to deal with spit bottles etc so I went with a more spitless tobacco in the Oliver Twist Nippets. I guy I new saw these and I had commented how they don't seem to last very long. That's when he introduced me to Stonewall.. You just put the pill in your lip and when you want a little taste just slip your tongue on it. (I quickly discovered never ever bit it unless you want it to turn you green real quick) I could usually get one to last 3-4 hours and it was really much cheaper than chew without any mess or crap in your teeth, stains etc. I would use this while at work and smoke outside of work. Once I left the job I quit smoking and chewing. I have no cravings for cigs but my mouth still waters thinking about that stuff.
CigarEnthusiast Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Has anyone in the US tried Snus? After reading about it I am quite interested in trying it. 1
Fosgate Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I tried it once in high school. It was huge with my grandfathers generation of course the Midwest is packed with Scandinavian decedents. Seems to be making a comeback because for years I hardly ever saw it around here and now you can buy it almost anywhere. Seems odd based on the last paragraph that the EU would ban it with the exception of it's home country of Sweden yet allow cigarettes. http://science.howstuffworks.com/snus.htm
forgop Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I used to chew a bit in high school. Never cared for the cans as much as it was just too fine, notto mention virtually everything was wintergreen and after a bad experience playing tackle football at a part with kodiak, I haven't had wintergreen anything ever since. Preferred Beech Nut and Red Man myself.
brutusthebuckeye Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Has anyone in the US tried Snus? After reading about it I am quite interested in trying it. I've tried it...not bad no spitting..but I just like my skoal long cut... I think I tried the Marlboro snus not sure...
cdfarrar Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Has anyone in the US tried Snus? After reading about it I am quite interested in trying it. I've used both the Camel and Marlboro on long flights(14 hrs +) and found that the The Camel SNUS to be the better of the two, and if you can find it they make a 1g pouch(instead of 1/2g) Robust. Has a lot of flavor and very enjoyable in a situation where no smoking is allowed.
rtrimbath Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I dip Skoal Straight and use Camel or General Snus in between dips. I started using both as a way to quit smoking, which has worked, but I really just traded one evil for another possibly worse alternative. I've been using one or the other for the past 15 years, and love both. I can't really see quitting unless a health issue comes up.
BehikeLover2 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 But...where to order snus? Consider, location = EU
ralphie48 Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Has anyone in the US tried Snus? After reading about it I am quite interested in trying it. I am in the USA and was a 2 pack a day smoker for 10 years. Then I found real Swedish Snus and it made me quit and I never looked back. My brand of choice is roda lackett There's some great Snus suppliers out of Sweden that will ship worldwide if im not mistaken . If you are looking for someone to ship to us or eu feel free to pM me
ralphie48 Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 FYI for those who have tried American Snus. It's nothing like true Swedish Snus totally different animal
MrGTO Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I've got to try some Stokers now. Growing up working on farms there was nothing better than having a chew while cutting hay at first light. 1
CoCigarSmoker Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I do skoal Suns everyday. Long cut was giving me heartburn from gutting it over the years. I like skoal best out of marborol or camel. However, the Swedish stuff is strong fwiw. Seth

Bennettjohnl Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Chewed a lot of different brands over the last 20 years but Copenhagen snuff was always my favorite. During a recent negotiation with the wife had to give up the Copenhagen to purchase an aristocrat humi. Looks like more multi cigar days to take the edge off.
Cep Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 I first tried snuff about 2 years ago. I have made a few orders since then from the UK. I think snuff is pretty awesome! Mainly been using WoS snuff. Tried abraxis cafe 11? as well. burns too much. Anyways, I am a nicotine FIEND at the moment. Cigars the odd fag VAPING snuff Not sure why I have the constant need for one of these products...
PointFivePast Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Got in to snus about 6 or 7 years ago. Helped me quite smoking cigarettes at the time and now I go through a tin of 20 packets in about 3 days. Started with the Camel Snus when they first came out but after trying some Swedish snus I realized how incredibly sweet the Camel stuff was. I had enjoy the Camel Spice Snus but they cut it from the lineup after the testing phase and the regular they kept on was just sugary as all hell. Started ordering online and tried all kinds of Swedish snus. To this day my favorite is Jakobsson's Flader which has a delicious elderberry and tobacco flavor... absolutely divine. I kept ordering for a year or two before General made a big push in to my region of the US. Now that I can find General in many local convenience stores I buy it locally as opposed to ordering online. I use the White packets exclusively as I find them most comfortable and the flavor is pleasant; mildly salty and toasted tobacco. As I type this though I have a hankering for some Jakobsson's so I might just put in an order!
