tippexx Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 We all know what happens, Habanos delete them, we become a bit more interested and sooner or later can become almost impossible to find. Some seem to remain on shelves and available for ages, while others, LGC Tainos, Partagas Princess, Punch Petit Punch for example don't remain available for long and that includes countries where they're most expensive. There have been a lot of deletions over the last five years, and if I were to pick one and predict that it will become a sought after HTF I would choose the Romeo y Julieta Petit Princess. It is (was) a delightful little smoke and rarely got the praise it deserved. Anyone else have a prediction or suggestion for something to look out for?
laficion Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I would say, If you're looking to get something good & rare, Then get yourself some GISPERT ,That's what I'd say , Nice little cigar .Too bad they are gone !!!!!! Guy
Puros Y Vino Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 It's probably too late, but I'd say the RACF. They sat around for years and now everyone's looking for them. 1
SaintLuis Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Hard to find due to cancellation, or just supply/demand? The Robusto Ts are already tough to find. 1
Carpenter69 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 It's probably too late, but I'd say the RACF. They sat around for years and now everyone's looking for them. You're right. I'm sitting on mine like they're gold.lol
polarbear Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Depending on this year deletions I think the Mag 50 might be on the chopping block and therefore going to get very scarce
dowjr1 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Based on my last batch of Mag 50s then I am okay with that. 2
tmac77 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 It's probably too late, but I'd say the RACF. They sat around for years and now everyone's looking for them. I am one of those looking for them.
BonVivant Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Is RACF a regular production cigar, which was discontinued? It looks like Jose Piedra Nacionales had disappeared, as well
Habana Mike Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Is RACF a regular production cigar, which was discontinued? It looks like Jose Piedra Nacionales had disappeared, as well Ramon Allones Celestiales Finos AP RE 2009 http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brand.aspx?brand=Ram|on_Allones#211_Edici|on_Regional_Asia_Pacifico Still got a couple or so.......some love 'em, some hate 'em. I think you can tell where I lie 2
Habana Mike Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Is it discontinued? Was a release of 4000 boxes for the APAC market in 2009. Almost impossible to find on the primary market today. I'd trade a few for some old band Fundadores though
BonVivant Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 old bands Fundadores were discontinued in 1998 There some more RACFs coming from Switzerland, according to CCW: http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brand.aspx?brand=Ram|on_Allones#395_Edici|on_Regional_Suiza 2014 - Edición Regional Suiza Regional Edition Series Perfectos Británicas Extra 48 x 137 (5.4") Perfecto Cigars: Handmade. Bands: Unknown. Packaging: Numbered Semi Boite Nature Box of 10 cigars (5,000 made). Status: A proposed 2014 release. Not yet available.
Habana Mike Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 old bands Fundadores were discontinued in 1998 Changed to the new bands in 2003 but NISU is still the bomb!
Maplepie Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 man, screw the damn CFs. They taste like all the darn Petit Piramides i've ever smoked... I say this way too often nowadays: ... Ramon Allones makes way too bloody many. The Canada Petit Piramide taste like the UK Petit Piramide which tastes identical to the Celestial Finos. I can bet some good money the Swiss perfecto will taste exactly like the Celestial Finos. People have also said the UK and French Petit Piramides taste completely identical (note: i know some are Belicoso or petit Belicoso or whatever. Practically, they're the same bloody cigar) Oh and let's not forget the four RA Petit Robustos: Israel, Portugual, Andorra, and now: Netherlands. ... Whoops... is my cynicism showing?
Maplepie Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Note: x3 on the Trinidad Robusto Ts I was lucky enough to find an OR box for the price of RyJ No. 2s from a BnM. Will be on the hunt for more of those, though. I pray the Dippy 2 won't fall prey to this, either.
LGC Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 It doesn't matter. I stick to what I like. I don't believe in trying all new cigars that come out these days, or chasing everything that becomes discontinued. If I can afford to, I purchase boxes of stuff that I really like. If it is discontinued, then it's okay. I can't afford to spread my cigar money around everywhere, or experiment with new or unproven vitolas. With the way things are going now, it's very easy to eliminate a lot of choices... based on my size preferences. I tend to chase the flavor, not the rareness of a cigar. With a RA RE being released so often, they tend to lose their appeal. I'm happy as long as I have good cigars to smoke... regardless of label or availability. 3
Smallclub Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Listing any Regional in this thread doesn't make sense: they are HTF by definition everywhere where they're not distributed… 3
SaintLuis Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Both of the 42 RG VRs will be hard to find. Just got a box of classicos, and I'll be grabbing a box or two of familiars before they're all gone too
SteveGriff Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Hard to find due to cancellation, or just supply/demand? The Robusto Ts are already tough to find. What SaintLuis said. I think the Trini Robusto T started to get some good rep and alas the rug was pulled from under it. Was available for quite a while in "discontinued mode" but now seem to have become very scarce all of a sudden.

I would agree with you Steve ... a lot of vendors are showing 'OUT', although I think the high price will see some still available for a while yet, same too for it's bigger brother. And both are very, very good cigars.
