rshacklefordiv Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 http://bonvivantva.com/?p=2167 What do you make sure you bring when you visit Cuba?
Mtlpadron Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Honestly I bring maple syrup, since they don't have any there and pancakes or waffles are not the same without it. Most Cubans i spoke with had never tried it before either
ajgagnon Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 I usually bring a bike. And a lighter with butane rather than pesticide. And sometimes a big bag of lightly used clothing. And a good cutter.

rshacklefordiv Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 Honestly I bring maple syrup, since they don't have any there and pancakes or waffles are not the same without it. Most Cubans i spoke with had never tried it before either I'm more of a Aunt Jemima or Hungry Jack man myself (pardon the blasphemy), but I do see your point. When I was there, our Cuban guide was waxing poetic about the one time she tried Nutella. We're sending her some. Aspirin A second watch Laminated business card printed with three emergency contact numbers: Toby : Jose : Australian Consulate in Mexico 4 bottles of Berocca First aid Kit. I didn't laminate anything, but I brought all of those items save for Berocca. I'd never heard of it until just now. I'm not a huge guarana fan, but I might have to give it a try. We kept a pretty grueling pace to get the most out of our trip, and I did drink a lot more coffee than usual, but a little extra edge wouldn't have hurt. Lots of cash and a good attitude Definitely necessities!
Rye Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 SARAN WRAPIs that to help with the teenaged Canadian cave parties somehow? Ziplocs man. Many many big freezer bags 1
Maplepie Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Is that to help with the teenaged Canadian cave parties somehow? Ziplocs man. Many many big freezer bags Yupp! Auto asphyxiation seems to be the norm there... apparently, if your brain doesn't get oxygen for 3 minutes, you get a high that lasts a lifetime! No no... The saran wrap is a cheaper and [arguably] better alternative for those freezer bags. A two ply wrapping gives it a nice little airtight seal. Plus the leftovers you can leave for the locals. I bring 3 knowing i'd use like 0.25 of the 3 that i bring. Plus they stack better than in ziplocks! Note: added bonus of you not trying to open the boxes and smoking 'just one' when you're down there.
