Popular Post rshacklefordiv Posted May 19, 2014 Popular Post Posted May 19, 2014 I got back last week, but just got my first couple blog posts up. More to come. Later in the week I visited a cigar factory, and tobacco farm. I should get those days posted soon. Since I was on an educational tour, I did a lot that the normal tourist probably doesn't get to do. rshacklefordiv Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Thanks for the feedback! Extra credit to anyone who can help me identify the Canadian friends I made at LCDH. All I know is that they were named Herschel and Larry, and were lawyers from Toronto. I didn't think to ask if they were on the forums. More info and a pic in the post. Day 3 http://bonvivantva.com/?p=2170 I hope to get some more posts out tomorrow. Thanks for the interest. Also, click the cigar category for more cigar posts while you wait.
stogieluver Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Thanks for posting that, Rusty. Brings back lots of memories from our trip in 2012. Our trip started in Havana, but we visited Santa Clara, Remedios, and Cayo Santa Maria (stayed at another all inclusive there), Pinar Del Rio, Vinales, etc, and took the train ride, made most of the same stops you guys made. Looking forward to more from your blog. Like you, the trip only made me want more of Cuba. My wife, not so much after two days in the Habana Libre without hot water, and catching a parasite we named Juan because he stayed with her for three weeks. I hope I can get back again there some day soon.
Guyman1966 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Thank you for sharing your trip. I hope to make that trip soon.

I've noticed a lot more P2P trips that stay in Havana now. If any of those are based out of Spanish owned hotels, you shouldn't have any issues with water or power. I won't be able to travel for a while with a newborn, but I've already started talking to my wife about the jazz in Havana P2P.
Bartolomeo Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Great pics and write up, looks like we were there at the same time Thanks for sharing Bart

I'll get day 5 up tomorrow, which will be of particular interest to y'all since it includes a trip to a cigar factory, and tobacco farm. In the meantime, I have a scotch tasting up on the blog if anybody is interested.
rshacklefordiv Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 Day 5 is up! Cigar factory, tobacco farm, La Floridita and papa dobles, cigars, and a jazz club. I won't be able to get any more updates up until after the long weekend (Memorial Day). I'll be at the pool, on the lake, at the bbq, and behind the bar. Have a good one, and smoke one for me.
