YES!!! Why do we know this Sh....???

Awesome that you did, though : )

If you ever have any vinyl recommendations, let me know. I tend to seek out old blues, R&B, and jazz albums. But reggae, punk rock, hell anything... Even if it's just one random song on an album, I love it!

I have a few hundred platters myself. Not to many things worth more than a few bucks but I've got some Kate Bush, Jethro Tull, and this one Pink Floyd album with a taped on reproduction of a Jack Kirby drawing of Darkseid, I think. The title is something with "The coming of the comet Kohutek" or something like that.

People are curious creatures. Take myself for example. A perfectly reasonable middle aged man, yet I recently became fascinated with bowling pins. I bought four new pins and am looking for a few more.

Have you considered African cichlids? Everyone needs cichlids

Good point. But then I'd need a bowling ball and I am not in the least bit fascinated by bowling balls...yet. Wilkey

Wilkey, your bowling pin collection is very cool. There is something of the female figure to them - or am I just being a deviant? Are there many other pin collectors out there?

My only collection other than a bit of original artwork and consumables (wine, cigars, spirits), are trail maps from the ski hills I've been to. Pedestrian really compared to what I see here. My dream collection would be canoes, but I would have to give up the skiing and consumables for that to happen.

I've told my wife that I collect pins because their shape reminds me of her. That's good for a couple month. ;)

There is a legendary pin collector. He was reported to have several hundred and he was part of the business so he had some ins. I'm coming at this from an outsider's perspective and having just started, I'm at a pretty relaxed pace. Apparently, bowling pin collecting is not a really hot thing. Collectors are few and far between or at least not very visible...even on the bowling forums.

Canoes? You mean like handmade wooden canoes?

Clever man!

Canoes: Yes, but not exclusively so. I like to think of canoes being a living thing, not unlike ships, so used, well traveled canoes regardless of make have stories to tell. That connection to previous owners is part of the appeal.

I've photographed most of my pins and posted them up on Collectors Weekly, a site for, well, collectors of stuff. Also, there are interesting lead articles and interviews. If you are so inclined, you can find my pins here: WIlkey's Bowling Pins.

I find this absolutely, heart wrenchingly adorable.

The title 'Wilkey's Bowling Pins' just screams innocence at me. This is one of the cutest things i've ever seen in life. The way you describe it with such depth and precision is so admirably diligent of you.

Reading all the comments that goes along with the bowling pins (especially that candle one) forces a huge smile on my face. I have something to do tomorrow for work now! And just train my mouth muscles for a good hour.

Interesting to read all the strange collections.

I collect cameras, film cameras esp. Hell I've blown $10k on a camera one time. I use them too. Now that I'm getting into cigars I wanna sell some of them to find my new hobby, only to realize nobody's interested in expensive film cameras anymore.

I have never really been a collector but a few times felt its pull. When I first discovered premium loose tea I started picking up small tea pots at the thrift store. I then found small Oolong Chinese tea pots online. I filled a small shelf with about 20 and stopped. At the time I only steeped tea in a cup. I think it had more to do with hunting for them as I never looked at them after buying them.

I fill that need now with cigars. Am I collector , not really as I smoke my stock frequently but I enjoy the process of researching, finding and then consuming my obsession.
