Popular Post Drguano Posted May 3, 2014 Popular Post Posted May 3, 2014 Pictures of trophy cigars grace the forum every day. But where are the images of smoking catastrophes? I sparked up a Lusitania this afternoon that completely exploded. As I pondered the irony of a cigar named for a maritime disaster, I decided to post a shot of the event and share it with the forum. I also thought of asking Rob for a refund but I enjoyed smoking this wreck to the wrapper and have nothing to complain about. 7
StingMeadery Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Yeah had a Connie 1 recently that performed just as well in the disintegration department ...but was very tasty during its chaotic demise :$ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Drguano Posted May 3, 2014 Author Posted May 3, 2014 What about other cigars from the same box? First one out of a historic box that took a year and a half to arrive.
nikesupremedunk Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 That looks ugly but glad you still enjoyed it. Did it have any small cracks along the body? I notice this happens a lot when theres a tear in the body. Best thing to do is push the band up and support it so it doesn't burst open.
daeji5 Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 First one out of a historic box that took a year and a half to arrive. Why so long?
Habana Mike Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Sometimes boxes go missing for months and then miraculously/mysteriously appear. There are theories but I'm not sure anyone really know for sure......well maybe someone 18 months in transit may have something to do with the behavior of that particular cigar Guano.
oliverdst Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 I blieve I remember you telling us that it had arrived. Maybe it overdried but, hell, it was like a phoenix.
Drguano Posted May 4, 2014 Author Posted May 4, 2014 Yes, they wandered or languished somewhere. My favorite theory is they were in a truck that was beamed to the mother ship like Close Encounters and did not age while travelling at light speed. I will be delighted if the other nine smoke as well as this one.

However, all 4 that I've tried have been fairly flat. I pushed hem to the back of the humidor hoping time will heal all wounds. How have your sticks from that shipment been smoking? Any others than the lusi?
Optic101 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Wow, heard about it, but never saw a it. Looks scary. Lucky it tasted well.
Guest rob Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 It's clear to me that you must have forgotten to activate the safety and remove the chambered round before lighting it.
jat Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 That sir is a 'Labrador', apologies to Cheech and Chong. In so far as something you would find on the grass around your home if you owned said dog. 1
Tino Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Not as dramatic as Dr G's Lusi, but this Monte 520 yesterday was a disaster. Underfilled down one side, Kevlar coated wrapper etc etc
