BMWFan
Trinidads are very good, but for me they can't touch an LGC Tainos or No 2.

Habana Mike
I always thought the saying was 'for all intensive purposes'. there you go hey That is malapropism. The correct phrasing finds root in English law. The new one mentioned, I have no idea what that even means. Actually I believe this is more appropriately categorized as an eggcorn: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eggcorn Drives me crazy when I see it.... Personally I have enjoyed a fair number of Trinidads and have a range of vitolas in the humidor, Fundadores, Reyes, Ingenios and the Robusto T primarily. Best brand, no though certainly one I appreciate and am glad to have around.
ogus
Trini is special for sure. Try scotches and Laphroig. Try pipe tobacco and Penzance. Cars, Bentley. Special and luxurious.

Not to make this an English discussion because I'm no English expert. Both eggcorn and malapropism are new terms to me...But if eggcorn... What does "for all intensive purposes" mean? Lol Btw. It drives me crazy too - funny crazy not angry crazy...
FetaBoy
I think killing the Robusto T, which to me was a front runner for best cigar in the world, was in the heights of stupidity. It was like a Behike light. Such a shame. I now hoard what i have left of them. Ive go a box of coloniales on order, which i have higher hopes for. It seems the narrower RGs are getting too hard to come by. Such a shame. I have to agree with the stupidity behind ditching the RobT. They came out in 09 and are just starting to turn a definitive corner. I have only smoked 09s and 10s. Ironically, I have an early 13 box of Coloniales that is smoking surprisingly well, despite its youth. A gifted OR Fundie is what started me down the slippery slope and the RobXs, don't even get me started. ASININE to let that cigar go the SAME year as the RobT?! Whose bright idea was THAT? I wish I could say I have high hopes for the Vigia, but with that rg, I wouldn't wager anything substantive. I can say this, if I was in a different tax-bracket, I smoke a Trini everyday and be happy as a clam!

For all intent and purpose could be swapped out with 'at the end ofthe day' or 'all things being equal' ' all things considered' etc Eg Two people are arguing about which political party is the best, a third comes up and says 'for all intent and purpose, the whole lot of them are corrupt useless slime, why are you arguing?' A short way of saying if you consider the intent of politicians and for what purpose they do the things they do

From what I understand if it has no real meaning it is a malapropism. Anyway. Sorry for dragging this on...

Ohhh lol, I think it doesn't really mean anything, just gibberish that has replaced the real statement in some places You can certainly say that something, like a hummingbird, has an intensive purpose due to how it goes about it's purposes (intensively!) but that's just a comment on a hummingbird, not a phrase or figure of speech
jazzmonkey
IMO. The "best" brand is the one you enjoy the most.

hulklogan
Took out a second mortgage on the home tonight and suckled on another Robusto T matched with a half pint of Ardbeg Uigeadail. mk05
I personally liked Robusto T and some Robusto Extra. But where's the differentiation and value prop for Behike 52 and 54? Behike, introduced in 2010; another exclusive, high-end line that is "only made at one factory," just like Trinidad. Same pigtail and similar sizes. Same price tier. Who is going to buy Trinidad now? Kill it. Sigh...
