Also.....PP is scoring.....and Nash scored.

You laid a whooping on us fair and square. Btw I love Nash and would take him on my team anyday. He just found a really bad time to break out of his slump ( for me that is).

That goof already did that to a Montreal player about a month ago. He should be suspended for chicken plays like that. https://mtc.cdn.vine.co/r/videos/AA60348B021060275750453841920_13229aede23.3.4.m

Nothing better in hockey than habs vs boston

GO HABS GO!!!!

I bet the Rangers in game 1 but I bet the habs to win the series in 6. After they beat Boston I thought they would struggle to get excited for game 1. Now toss is a embarrassing lose in game 1 I think the habs come out flying game 2 .

What choked me was the 1 pm game. Who does that for a Saturday playoff game!? Just as well as I could not watch the Habs break down...

Just got home from a day out and found out that Price is out for the series. That's a crippling hit......

I'd rather the NYR beat 'em with Price in net, than with some scrub from the minors.

Yeah not good news for us but what are you gonna do, that's hockey.........

Losing price is just more proof the winning the cup is the hardest trophy in pro sports. To win the holy grail you need to survive 4 rounds .

Perhaps the classiest response I've read regarding this incident. I applaud you, sir! Clearly not only a fan of the team but the game itself.

Truly a bummer because the Habs were playing some fantastic hockey. Would have much preferred to see this series with Price in the net but as the post above points out, the NHL playoffs are grueling.

Well my friend, let me first off congratulate you on the Rangers' win against my Habs. Losing Price in the first game had nothing to do with the outcome because Tokarski played a hell of a series for us. I owe you a fiver of PSE2's and if you pm me your address I'll make sure to get them out to you. Btw they won't be coming from our hosts as my cousin is in Cuba (back on Monday) and I told him among other things, to pick up a few fivers of E2's for me from the LCDH in Varadero. I tried to PM you but I think your inbox is full because it said that you can't receive any new messages. Cheers.

East meets west final. Anyone think they should alter the format for such a long travel distance? Add some days maybe?

Posted

Vigneault is a very good coach and he understands that a team that lacks talent needs to play very well defensively and that's precisely what the Rangers did and last night's game was a perfect execution on their part.

Bettman will be on cloud 9 if he gets a NY-LA final. The two biggest markets in North America $$.

You know the players are tired at this stage, but if they add many more days they're going to be running into the NFL pre-season. The playoffs are too long as it is. I think too many teams make it through. If they cut back on the # of playoff teams and had one fewer round, the regular season would mean more, and people would stay more interested. But, I don't imagine the NHL would want to give up all that playoff revenue.

Have to completely disagree here. I can't remember a season that didn't come down to the last couple of weeks. Teams playing for a division, their playoff lives or just a better position. You don't get games where all the stars are being rested after the first period. The regular season means a lot. The 4 rounds in the playoffs are tough which is what hockey is all about. Toughness. Ya the guys are beat up, but the joy on their bearded faces when they raise the cup makes it all worth it.

Hope Chicago can pull it off tonight.

Sent a long time ago from a Galaxy S5 far far away.

Hey dude,

I'm back on FOH with enough time to post for the first time in a week - Since I got on the ground in Greece I've not had more than a couple mins to myself!

Thanks for the classy response, man - a hard fought series and Tokarski shocked the hell out of me too - but reading more into him, I'm not that surprised, he has been surprisingly solid everywhere he's been. He was thrown to the fire and played pretty damn good. I'd say Budaj's days are probably numbered in MTL.

I appreciate you holding your end of the deal! I've no problem with the 5'er coming from Cuba vice FOH, that's cool with me. As soon as I can free up some PM space, I'll send you a PM so we can make it happen.

Thanks man!

LET'S GO...RAN-GERS!

Chris, there has been some speculation from the lads at TSN that the Habs may use Tokarski as trade bait due to his performance. Price will be the starter, period. Tough to leave a kid with that much talent on the bench plus his stock is sky high right now. Might fetch a nice return.

My thoughts as well. No way that you can keep that talent sitting on the bench.

Montreal was out played offensively in this series. Tokarski's play and the drama around his call up made the series worth watching. I wish him the best and look forward to following his career.

Hopefully they get more than the Canucks did in losing two franchise goalies.......

Either one of us could have done better then Gillis did with Lu and Schneider. What a serious debacle.

Well done Kings. Very organised hockey team. Well deserved, the Blackhawks gave too many looks defensively to the Kings forwards. Great series though. OT in game 7. Hopefully, it's a great final series.

Congrats to the Kings. It was a great series and the Blackhawks made them work for it to the bitter end. As we say in Chicago "wait till next year"!
