StingMeadery Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Hey Guys, Need an email or phone number... PM if needed Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
LordAnubis Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I wouldnt bother to be honest... You can call them from their website, and asked to get put through to the cigar shop. Don't think you will get anoyone who knows anything about cigars though. Ive not met a single person in my visits who knows anything about cigars. All are just salesmen with no idea about their products.

My mums going thru there next week on her way back to Oz and I'm unsure whether I should get her to pick something up for me
LordAnubis Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Gettinga box is fine, getting a GOOD box is a problem. The guys at the shop wont find a good box for you, and are hesitant to open up several boxes for you to inspect. Im not going to pay hundres of dolalrs for an ok box of cigars. 1
Pedro2486 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 As I suspected. Plus I think Rob has spoiled other vendors for me
StingMeadery Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 Anyone know how many cigars you can buy at Duty Free on the WAY INTO Dubai? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ARRV Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Anyone know how many cigars you can buy at Duty Free on the WAY INTO Dubai? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk For all intents and purposes Dubai is duty free - so i don't think there is any limit - cigars are sold in duty free shop as you exit airport - i.e. past customs etc. As said above - i never met anyone in any shop selling cigars who know the first thing about them. Ask to inspect all boxes
StingMeadery Posted April 17, 2014 Author Posted April 17, 2014 I'm after some of the harder to find EL releases so have set my Air Hostess friend onto tracking some down. I feel a cigar related Forrest Gumpism approaching. "Life's like a box of HABANOS..." you know the rest Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
LordAnubis Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Anyone know how many cigars you can buy at Duty Free on the WAY INTO Dubai? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I'm pretty sure Dubais customs policy is officially 200 cigars per person. The customs is very laxed though ive never seen anyone being checked (you basically walk yourself through the nothing to declare door). If you have your cigars in a bag or somethign thats not exactly visible you should be fine. The duty free on the land side of the terminal has a few boxes of everything and is geneerally not manned. If you have a knife on you or something then just open boxes at will. Buying in dubai city is about 30% more expensive than buying at airport duty free. Just keep that in mind. 1

LordAnubis Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Ahahah, nah the land side duty free is after baggage claim, so if you have a leatherman in checked luggage liek i do then you can get it out and open boxes... it's hard to cut stickers with finger nails or credit cards i've found.
MatthewB Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 I went by last week and was not impressed at all by anything I saw at the Airport shop. I spent a good 45min - 1hr going through boxes and the general quality was just Ok. I personally would not ask a non cigar person to buy me anything from there and as mentioned already, the staff are simply sales pers. just my 2 cents

When I went threw I would be searching high and low for a good box. They are there just a matter of finding them. I have come threw dubai with as many as 16 boxes and never got stopped.Just don't do anything stupid like cusssing or anything and your good going threw. I seen a guy that was cussing and got pulled out and never came back in line.
mk05 Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 What does that mean, you want someone to open each box and smoke several cigars for you to check if it is good? How does this make sense?
maverickdrinker Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Does anyone know what regionals are available at the dubai duty free? Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
ChanceSchmerr Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Does anyone know what regionals are available at the dubai duty free? Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk This - I'll be headed through Dubai myself next month. Is there better regionals available in Dubai proper?
almudawi Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Just back from Dubai. No regionals at all. Only 1 beaten up box of Qatar Oryx for $554
westg Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Just back from Dubai. No regionals at all. Only 1 beaten up box of Qatar Oryx for $554 MUS (LordAnubis) how could you....
Coloniales Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Mainly Boili Oryx at daft prices and RA Macedonians can be found. I have NEVER had a quality issue with cigars at Dubai Duty Free, and I live here. Smoking a wonderful RYJ Ex4 from a 50 Cab bought from there last year, soooo dark n oily. The sales people in the shop(s) are just that. No real expertise, sadly. Prices are good. Beirut better Keith. 1
