So, it's been a while since I started a thread, and keeping in theme with my other posts, this will be for the boardriders amongst us. From me noticing Fabes' skate shot for his avatar, to SurpriseMVP

I surfed and skateboarded a lot through my teen years while living on Sydneys northern beaches (Curl Curl, DeeWhy, Collaroy) but obviously haven't done a lot since moving to Toronto, now I snowboard

I've just started learning to surf after moving to a coastal suburb to live.

I've done a lot of sports but this is super hard for me. It took me several sessions to even stand up.

I've been going every second morning it is very relaxing even if I suck.

Been surfing at Trigg and north point at Mullaloo (prefer there).

Been using a longboard but used my GF's shorter board (still pretty long maybe 7 ft?) and found that easier to paddle.

I'm aged 26 so Johnny Utah style without the good looks or FBI badge.

Any tips?

Wakeboarder and snowboarder here. Would like to get into kiteboarding but don't like the idea that the best time to do it where I'm from is November. It is so cold in November here. Pretty sure if I lived where I could surf I would definitely do that also. Happy to see some other board riders here. Keep posting videos!

Surfing is the hardest thing that I have ever taken on. The time spent learning how to surf has probably been the most discouraging moments of my life. The learning curve on surfing is just ridiculous. BUT so rewarding and amazing when you get it down, wait till youre carving and spraying water off the lip. Then it gets really awesome.

Some tips: keep paddling out as often as possible. Go out as much as you can. Get a feel for paddling, the way the wave picks you up, and taking off.

Also, skateboarding really helped me. IMO, I think surfing's closer to skating than snowboarding.

I have been involved with the winter sports, skiing and snowboarding my entire life. My family owns a ski shop back in california. I am currently running a ski and snowboard shop in sydney. So if anyone has any questions or needs advice about skiing or snowboarding let me know.

Too true! I've watched it a number of times. I used to work at Oakley and know most of the riders in this film from various events and film trips! Travis is a powerhouse, and becoming a bit of a visionary with his contributions towards the Supernatural event format

Here's the preview to Art of Flight for those who want a taster

Got the juices flowing now mate - a must watch in 1080p drool.gif Still have any Oakley contacts...? I've got a Queenstown trip coming up!

Will swing by this arvo, or tomoza arvo, on route home, just as long as Di doesn't get upset with my interuption, because you guys are always soooo busy! jester.gif

Just noticed this thread. Yes my avatar is hot tuna. i also have it inked on my leg. Not many waves in AZ Unfortunately (cant wait for California to fall into the ocean), but I do still manage to get out on my longboard once or twice a year.
