Jeremy Festa
So, it's been a while since I started a thread, and keeping in theme with my other posts, this will be for the boardriders amongst us. From me noticing Fabes' skate shot for his avatar, to SurpriseMVP's Hot Tuna avatar (not sure if that's why it's used, maybe they will see this and clarify), but I thought there has to be more boardriders amongst us. And, gathering inspiration from Mika's immense contribution with his 100+ page thread, here will be where we post everything "sideways." So if you surf, skate, snowboard or wakeboard, this will be where it's at! First edition, will be of reasonably recent vintage. The Distant Shores Movie, is a punchy 15 minute film from 2012 that has something for everyone. It has an epic soundtrack and is focussed on the travel aspect of the surfer's life, with some fairly remote locales visited. Enjoy and froth on!
Tan1801
I'm a snowboarder! My swimming skills have always been below average though, so water sports have never been my forte.

fabes
This will be a fun thread! I've been skateboarding for about 20 years now and don't plan on stopping any time soon. Had a good friend I grew up skating with come visit a few weeks back. We had a little skateventure weekend all around the SF bay area. It was great, but I was quickly reminded that my body was not used to three 8 hour days of skateboarding. Definitely worth it though!

Jeremy Festa
what about skiing? or as libtech calls them narrow ass snowboards? HAHA Okay okay! It's not quite sideways, but we all know that the snow-based rivalry is dead, and for bringing it up you get Jesper Tjäder's epicness, hot off the press http://youtu.be/k7-3xEpyAgo From my mobile phone
Philski
Enjoyed that clip, thanks. I'm not a surfer (unless you count bodysurfing, which I'm sure you don't), but I love surfing films. Ever watch Riding Giants? It's a hell of a film...

Jeremy Festa
Second instalment! I am curating some skate, wake, kite and snow vids right now for future posts, but thought I should upload this special surf vid to really get the thread going. This is a little edit of Shipsterns Bluff, the vid is called The Originals. Shipsterns is a famous wave down in Tasmania. The reef at Shipsterns has a super shallow section that makes the wave go all weird, and jacks up a wicked step in the face of the wave. The thing is, it gets pretty big swell also which makes it even more gnarly. The most special thing about this clip is it features a mate of mine, Tassie local, Mikey Brennan. Watch for about 30 seconds in, where he sculls a beer while in the barrel. Even more hardcore is he is wearing boardies (boardshorts) rather than a wettie (wetsuit) and the water is absolutely baltic down there. Anyway, should probably post this in the daily beer thread just for that effort. Enjoy http://vimeo.com/68657843

bacalao
More of a collector then skater now. Big Gonz fan and got a few Natas boards hanging around the house too. Here is my big boy cruiser set up with some old school Indy trucks and Santa Cruz Bullet wheels. Man it used to be easy getting back up when we were kids not so much now. Jeremy Festa
Today's instalment is a visual treat that should appeal to everybody. Massive Teahupo'o shot with a Phantom Camera. I think whoever shot and edited this together, were inspired by Lakai's and Spike Jonze use of this epic M83 song in the intro to Fully Flared. Either way, even in total silence this is pretty trucking awesome...Please watch in HD and full screen...Enjoy!
Jeremy Festa
Thread not getting as much love as I'd hoped. Went away for 4 days and it went to page 2. God forbid. Now, I know there are some dog lovers amongst us. So this one is for you! I used to have a Dalmatian that would rinse this lot. Got a harness and used to shred the tarmac up to the SLSC for surf checks in the morning when I lived at Marcoola. Good times! http://youtu.be/3Z77qexZTwk

Too true! I've watched it a number of times. I used to work at Oakley and know most of the riders in this film from various events and film trips! Travis is a powerhouse, and becoming a bit of a visionary with his contributions towards the Supernatural event formatHere's the preview to Art of Flight for those who want a taster http://youtu.be/kh29_SERH0Y From my mobile phone
