Popular Post Ryan Posted March 11, 2014 Popular Post Posted March 11, 2014 So here's a selection of new cigars to be released this year. From Left to right. The UK Regional Por Larranaga SobresalientePartagas Serie D No. 6Trinidad VigiaH Upmann No. 2 ReservaCohiba Robusto Supremo LE 2014. 58 ring gauge.Hoyo de San Juan, tube and welcome night box.The only one I have smoked is the Trinidad Vigia. I got one the week before the festival and a few the week of.First impression was these were too young, later in the week, oddly, they got better. A good cigar though I've no idea why they got rid of the Robusto T and Extra for this. For those who believe that initial releases are better then later releases. In this case there might be something to it. The cigars for the festival were rolled in El Laguito, I saw them being rolled there, regular production will be in the Trinidad facility in Pinar del Rio. There are differences in the factories.Regarding the others, reports from the Hunters tasting is that the Sobresaliente was a little young, the bands not even ready. It'll be a popular cigar though, not a bad size for a regional.Hearing very good things about the Upmann No. 2 reserva. People far more impressed by it than the last Reserva, the Romeo Churchill. The Cohiba is a very big ring gauge but you know, the way things are going, it doesn't seem that big anymore. No idea of course on any prices yet but will interested to see how the new Trinidad will be priced compared to the old Robusto T. It will likely be months before any get released, the Hoyo and Trinidad probably first and the Limiteds in October/November. I'm hearing rumours that the Hunters summer party is to be June 5th so the Sobresaliente will be released then, if it's ready.Going to try the Sobresaliente and San Juan this weekend. 8
PapaDisco Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 That San Juan looks like a real fattie, what's the ring on it?
fingerburner Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Nice work. Keen to hear your thought's as you smoke your way through them.
KoreanCowboy Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Very sad that the Cohiba is so large in ring gauge. The PL will be a must try for me unless it's priced high like so many of the recent regionals seem to be. 1

ramon_cojones Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 It's a shame these cigars don't even look cool since they're all so fat and dull looking. Only want to try the hu 2 and d6. Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts/pic.

lexvero Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 That cohiba looks outrageously huge! Looking forward to experiencing how it feels in my hand... Thanks for sharing Ryan!
cigcars Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 WOW! An H Upmann No.2 Reserva! No.1: I HOPE it's UNDER $100! No.2: I HOPE the Czar can obtain it and offer singles for sale - maybe in a variety sampler!

CdnLimitada Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Thanks for this. I for one will be buying the Cohibas. Not a huge fan of the large ring gauge but also don't hate it like some. Will try the Hoyos and Upmann too hopefully

sactochris Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 I'm shocked that the new Hoyo doesn't have the word Epicure in the title.
dangolf18 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 The Hoyo looks promising. The others not so much, especially that Cohiba EL.
StingMeadery Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 I'm keen on the Upmann and already pre ordered a couple of boxes of the Cohibas ... Anticipating they will fire and be absurdly good like the 1966 otherwise great trade bait Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Guyman1966 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 It's a shame these cigars don't even look cool since they're all so fat and dull looking. And that right there sums up the story of my life. LOL
