p4gtr Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Tampa... All of the heritage and none of the flavor. Hi all. My name is Daniel, thanks for having me. I've been in Tampa my entire adult life. As you may or may not know there is a large subculture of Cuban imigrants, cigar stores, old cigar factories.. Tampa is an old world cigar city, with nothing tangibly smokable to show for it (save for the flor de ybor, a good smoke). I've found this place for the same reason most of you probably did. I'm familiar with forums and I look forward to participating a bit, hopefully fitting in and maybe finding how to finally enjoy a few of the cigars I'm tired of hearing about and never getting to enjoy. I have tried for years to find something that suits my taste. I'm tired of ceasing that perfect opportunity when the wife and kids are asleep, the grill is dying down.. The stars are out.. Only to select another random stick and being disappointed. Tired of missing out on the finer things in life. Tired of reading how amazing things are that I cannot have. Life is about ceasing the moment and finding enjoyment wherever possible. Hopefully you guys can help me with that. My father is a cigar lover and we enjoy a smoke together semi-often. Hopefully we can find some new and interesting smokes to share a bond with.
nikonNUT Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Welcome, Daniel. I lived in Ozona for many moons myself.
p4gtr Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 Thanks fellas. I've been reading the FAQ's and digging in. I spent a few hours on the boards reading and taking it in. I'm still in the dark for the most part, but I understand that is to be expected. Patience is a virtue that as an adult I pretend to have to a semi-convincing degree. But when it comes to toys I'm still quite the little boy.
Guyman1966 Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Hello. I was just in your town over the weekend. Stopped by the ******** (I don't think we are permitted to say names of businesses)... but its just off of the street named after a dead President. I was able to find something to smoke... was not blown away.
Misterblue Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Hi Daniel. Heading your way in a few weeks with a dozen sticks for hanging in Ybor!
kevblue18 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Welcome! Shoudln't be too "smokeless" being in Tampa.
