Smoked a RG PC on Friday afternoon outside. Minimal wind, and it took me slightly over an hour.

I prefer PCs and Coronas to DCs or Churchills any day of the week.

I figured this would be a normal case for someone who tends to take more time when smoking a Robusto...

This make me wonder if I should start to slow down even more than I already have..

Short answer, on average close to an hour and a half. Long answer, it depends on many variables. Whether or not I am outside, construction, temperature, humidity, by myself, how far down I smoke whi

90 - 105 minutes indoors. 60 - 90 outdoors. some of u smoke very quickly!

About 1hr 15min to 1hr 30 min for me.

For those that take 75mins+ to smoke a robusto, how is it possible to find time for larger smokes? Now, I'm not talking DC's here, but say a Churchill or even Corona sized cigar. To each his own, and I think smoking slowly is key... But I wonder as some of you take close to 2 hrs how an even bigger smoke is possible, or is the normal day to day cigar generally smaller in size.. Eg: shorts, PC's, etc.

I buy and store DC's and Churchills to smoke during football season. I can make a DC last almost a whole football game, about three hours. PC's about an hour; robusto's about 75-90 minutes if inside and just chilling out.

Smoke however you are comfortable. Nobody has the right to tell you that you are doing it wrong, but I do suggest to everybody to just slow down and enjoy the cigar a bit. These are stress relievers and if we rush through a robusto just to "get a cigar in" it becomes a chore and a stress "adder".

Try slowing down, see if you like it, if not, then puff away at whatever pace and be happy. Thats what its all about anyways.

I agree Shlomo. A cigar reveals more flavor to me when I slow down on its draw..Flavors are cleaner and more distinct. I guess it all depends on the venue. If I have the time by myself or with others, I make the conscious decision to take it slow. But if I'm driving, or walking the site (@ work) with a cigar, I'm usually smoking the hell out of it because I have other things on my mind..

it took me three minutes for the current release of H.Upmann Royal Robustos - pitched not even an inch in.

This is disturbing news and I hope that it's few and very far in bewtween..I have a box of these waiting to be smoked. I've heard nothing but great reviews... If it's one out of a box, keep us posted on the rest as well as the box code and date..

Usually about an hour. Sometimes more if I'm relaxing and really savoring the cigar. Sometimes less if I'm occupied with other things and not really giving the cigar my full attention.

Long answer, it depends on many variables. Whether or not I am outside, construction, temperature, humidity, by myself, how far down I smoke which in turn is determined by how good the cigar is, the power, and moisture content. If I'm outside there may be a slight breeze which will make the cigar burn slightly faster as will warmer temperatures. Where I live and where we smoke at the climate is mild and most of the time controlled so there is no rush to smoke because you are comfortable. The tightness of roll will of course affect the burn rate as will moisture content but assuming a consistent roll and low rh that I keep my cigars at these are relatively constant, for me. It is dry in southern california as well so the cigars burn quicker. If the cigar has a lot of power I slow down further. If it's really good I smoke it down more than normal (like that 03 hu2). I find myself puffing at a more controlled pace when by myself so I tend to finish a cigar faster (but not by any means fast) as opposed to herfing with hiro-san and the other brothers because there is conversation and distraction. Especially by waitresses. So if the variables are in conducive-to-smoking-fast alignment about 75 minutes. If opposite, I can make a robusto last 105 minutes to 2 hours with very few if any relights. I take generous draws and hardly ever double puff #likeaboss.

I have a friend who once took 3.5 hours to smoke a RAG. I still joke to him about it to this day. I can make a pc easily last an hour without trying and a half corona will take me at least 45 minutes to smoke. I basically put everything on hold when I smoke. I am in no rush, I don't have to be anywhere and it is my therapy. Why hasten it? A dc will last me about 2.5 hrs but it is not uncommon for us to get together for 5 hours so I will usually have 3 cigars and it would be easy to have a dc and a robusto or corona.

Hour. Maybe 1:15. Depends on the stick, if I'm freezing my tail off on my back porch in January, conversation, etc.

I just burned a RASS and it took me an hour and a half, granted I was looking at vacation rentals on my phone etc

1 hour 40 minutes today for FOH blind cigar #1. A bit longer than usual - typically more like 60-75 minutes.

Always take a little longer when I'm seriously paying attention to the smoke.

I've been puffin Robustos on my lunch break at work and its usually about an hr give or take ten minutes. Now if i was to nub it down to a finger width then maybe 1hr30.

For me, I'm a bit on the slower side. The average robusto takes me between 75 to 90 min. Smoking any faster just isn't that pleasant for me.

About an hour. Here's an even better data gathering question. How many draws per robusto, I've never tracked it but I just may now.

It takes me about an hour to get through a Robusto - I always thought I was a slow smokers but am glad to see I'm average to fast according to this :)

I've noticed over the years that I smoke faster then most. Actually, I can't remember a time when someone finished before me on the same cigar/vitola...and I generally nub them. Now because I don't remember it, doesn't mean it didn't happen. And except for a plain ole shitty cigar, Ive never had a problem enjoying one.

For a Robusto, I'd say the avg for me is about 40 min, depending on the stick(CoRo seems to take a bit longer for me, say maybe 50 min? While RASS & PSD4 are pretty even...40min.

My point is about a year or so ago I was smoking a HU Connie 1(I know they are a Hermosos# 4) which is usually for me a 30min smoke tops. I was working and was pulled away from the cigar for 2-3 minutes...I was maybe just into the second 3rd...and when I came back to it, it hadn't burnt out and was actually still able to draw a good amount of smoke, which was VERY flavorful. I was really amazed at how much of a difference in flavor there was, simply by letting the cigar "cool" down(correct term?). It's given me cause to try & slooooow down a little bit. I do have to remind myself quite often though...:) Also, I smoke by myself a lot. If I'm with people, I tend to take a bit longer. But there is something to be said about flavor & flavor. My 2 cents
