... Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Good point. The one I use is a double blade. I have never had a wrapper crack but I have had slight unraveling of the cap on occasions, which I fix with pectin glue.
GodofFire Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I use a 9th punch on almost all of my cigars even the 42 size ring gage. But I am also a big fan of V cut especially on box shaped cigars
TM-US Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Do not use a cartridge case unless you have it thoroughly cleaned. Otherwise, you will be getting lead residue as well as some other nasty chemicals from the bullet, the primer and the powder. 1

And you wouldnt want any nasty chemicals while smoking your cigar now would you Not bagging you, it's good advice mate! We always joke in the mining industry about the guys who complain about cyanide gas in processing plants, while they are smoking cigarettes. 1
aaron878 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 I use an Xikar, but I try to get a very shallow cut, ideal is just the cap and cutting through little to no filler. I figure I can always cut more to suit the draw if need be, can't cut less.
