Good point. The one I use is a double blade. I have never had a wrapper crack but I have had slight unraveling of the cap on occasions, which I fix with pectin glue.

I use a 9th punch on almost all of my cigars even the 42 size ring gage. But I am also a big fan of V cut especially on box shaped cigars

Do not use a cartridge case unless you have it thoroughly cleaned. Otherwise, you will be getting lead residue as well as some other nasty chemicals from the bullet, the primer and the powder.

I use an Xikar, but I try to get a very shallow cut, ideal is just the cap and cutting through little to no filler. I figure I can always cut more to suit the draw if need be, can't cut less.
