ayepatz Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Here's my new smoking den. Since I'm no longer allowed to smoke in the house, and it's always bloomin' raining in the UK these days, so the patio is next to useless, I needed a new place to enjoy a cigar. Inspired by Rob's cigar deck and Ken's verandah, I cleared out the old shed at the bottom of the garden, stuck in a couple of comfy chairs and a heater, and Bob's-yer-uncle, I now have a nice warm space all of my own to kick back and light up. I'm christening it right now with a VR Famoso, and some Warre's Otima 10 Tawny Port. Happy as a pig in the proverbial. What about the rest of you? Judging by the humi pics, there must be some top notch smoke-atariums out there! 1
stogieluver Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Nice setup. I would miss having a TV, though. Didn't see one in the picture. I'm lucky to be able to smoke in my house in my leather chair in my den with my wife's approval. I do try, winter and summer alike, to open a window/door on two sides of the house to get some ventilation flowing through, turn the fan on the central cooling/heating system, and in the winter have a fire in the fireplace which also helps pull the smoke out of the house. That works pretty well for me. That being said, I'm in the process of converting one of the bedrooms to my smoking room, complete with some type of air cleaner and/or vent fan. I'm thinking of purchasing a Rabbit Air Purifier. Hear they work pretty well.
dubleuhb Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Looks perfect, like stogieluver said, a little entertainment would be nice, music at a minimum.
CaptainQuintero Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Top set up! I need to figure out something that agrees with my renting terms. I'm thinking welding two empty oil barrels together into one big tube, cut a door into it, a mouth hole and attach two wide flexible hoses for my arms... 3
Onsto Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I normally read this forum on my phone, so don't see a lot of the 'member details' that appear under the avatar on the full version. Captain Quintero - I think yours are my favourite so far. There have been some recent threads where I've seen more of that than usual... 1
Cohiba Stevie Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Im doing the same thing! The irish weather is in no way cigar friendly. Top set up mate. Tell me this: how does it hold the heat? What kind of heater did you use? I was thinking of a gas heater but would be concerened about the carbon monoxide building up. Also, do you have any method of smoke extraction? Again mate top set up 1
ayepatz Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Actually, at the moment I'm thoroughly entertaining myself by working through the site's video reviews on my iPad. So many good smokes I haven't tried yet! Got myself a bluetooth speaker and can get Sky Sports on the iPad as well. But it's the distinct lack of "do you really have to smoke that thing in here?" I'm enjoying most! 2
Stanislaw Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Nice job, good for you to figure out a way around mother nature's wrath.... i sadly still have to "walk" my cigars as I have a tiny apartment in manhattan but my next home will definitely have a room for just such a hideaway.... and yes, you need a tv in there to watch football!

Again mate top set up Just picked up the heater today. It's a Calor butane mini job, and I've just left the door open a couple of inches for ventilation. Absolutely no insulation, but the heater is on the lowest setting and it's nice and toasty in here. Result!
AndrewNR Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I've recently started working on my ..sort of mancave.. It's allot about improvising in my current situation. I kind of have a motorcycle cave.. And that doubles as a drink and cigar cave.. But its not extremely well set up for any of its uses yet...Nobody seems to like the after smell of cigars everywhere else..Veranda I use but no comfy chairs out there and its scarcely perfect weather.. always wind.. I'll nut it out someday! Do miss my own space. Gotta be some ripper man caves looming here somewhere? Looks like you've done a great job with the garden shed Bit of livery and some more homey stuff and your well on your way!
DrunkenMonkey Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Beautiful. Inspiration for me; I've been wanting something like that for some time. Place to sit and smoke, read, drink and relax. Cheers brother; may you burn thousands and thousands of cigars there.

ayepatz Posted March 2, 2014 Author Posted March 2, 2014 Very nice . . . is that just one shed, or do you happen to have two? Funnily enough, I do have two sheds. But I'm not thinking of buying a third. Or writing a symphony. 1
Stogieninja Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Smoke cleared by a 1100 CFM fan mounted in the ceiling How loud does that get?
