canadianbeaver Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 "From Sydney to Saigon, Madrid to Montreal you could find me" I have never seen it, I don't know 1 smoker who has seen it, and almost no one ever heard of it before the publication of MRN's Encyclopaedia… Hey I totally agree. But it was the only one I could find that was on earth for only 10 years, discontinued in 1998.

Guest Robo Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 "more than a decade" was the clue I think that this is a trick hint. Most people would believe that the cigar lasted for 10 years only, while I believe the hint is meant to disqualify all the cigars that were discontinued after less than 10 years in service. The hint says "more than a decade", which could mean 10/20/30/40 or more years. I also think that this riddle has more trick hints... really hard one, this is.
Guest Robo Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 H. Upmann Monarcas/Monarchs A doughnut so far H Upmann Monarcas Just in case this is the correct answer... I believe that CS's answer was changed. Rob clearly states that all answers before are wrong. For fairness sake, is there any way to tell whether and when a post has been edited?

Having followed this post closely when it came out yesterday, I don't think ChanceSchemerr changed his answer, that was his guess from the beginning.

canadianbeaver Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Chris is pretty desperate to win. I know him. :-)

I think he means ~10 years.

Haha I think this is hilarious, simply because I had the EXACT same question during a previous thread like this. Someone said only a marque (no vitola name), I later named a specific cigar in that marque (as it hadn't yet been named), and that person then shortly thereafter changed their answer to match mine. I was extremely disappointed at that person's actions, but I didn't see a point in raising a fuss - is it really worth it to be dishonest and change your answer just to win a single cigar, and by extension, is it really worth it to raise a stink about a friendly competition? I trust in karma, and I know dishonesty will always come back to haunt those who indulge it.This all said - I didn't change my answer in this one. It was Monarcas from the start. I even made a second guess of Hoyo Churchills later in the thread after my first one was wrong, as I saw Rob's post saying we'd all be wrong thus far! Either way, apology accepted. I'm certainly not perfect, but I think everyone who knows me (thanks for having my back, rckymtn22), knows what I stand for. Chris is pretty desperate to win. I know him. :-) Haha, thanks Lisa......I think ? LOL. I'm a competitve guy for sure! Just not a dishonest one......
Onsto Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 The bit that has me thrown is the reference to the traditions of the revolution, indicating a post-revolutionary marca. None of the Trinidad discontinuations have 10 years of longevity, and the only Cohiba discontinuation listed on Trevor's website (the Corona) was very short lived. I can't think of a SCDLH, Cuaba or Vegas Robaina that would be 'front of house'. LGC was abandoned in 1959 and restarted in 1965, which creates the next best tie, in my mind. My guess is the LGC MdO #1.
