liger930 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Hello everyone, Im local to Southern California. A brief history of how I ended up here. I had the luxury of enjoying many CC's abroad while in Asia several years ago. Upon returning I decided to kick the cigarette habit and explore the cigar hobby further. In my first season, I left an oversaturated foam humidifier unattended in a tabletop humidor during the summer. Hah! Mold to the max. I threw out the humidor, read up on mold 101, and took another stab at it. Season 2 was off to a great start. I successfully maintained ideal rh all season long. Then we had temperature spike one spring weekend, I believe it was 80F all weekend. On Monday I decided it was time to check up on humidor. Could have sworn a colony of lice moved in. Hah! Not lice, just cigar beetles. Everywhere. Read up on cigar bettle 101, froze everything, and took another stab at it. I am now in my third season, and the future is looking bright. The winedor is seasoned right, collection is growing, and I have found the FOH.
Tan1801 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Welcome and good luck on season three . There is a wealth of knowledge on this forum (and the wider net) to tap into. Out of curiosity when you got cigar beetles, were your cigars cuban, non-cuban or a mix?

liger930 Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 thank you everyone for the warm welcome.. very happy to be here. mftan: as for the beetles i believe they were CC's...from another collector's humidor. at the time didnt know what i had, they were just free sticks so i took em in. i was upset about the outbreak, but now i smile when i say...to date they have been the most luxurious cigars to grace my pallete.
