I use punch that is on my xikar lighter but it is now dull. I should send it in but lighter works great. I also use xi1 and Palio burlwood for "Fancy" outings! I am going to order the credo 3 cigar punch as I really like punch cuts when possible and it has large punch on there that I dont have currently.

Palio

Table top quad cutter! Just attach a chain for your neck and it's good for travel too!

I use Palios exclusively now - ever since I got my first one 4 years ago, I had to buy a few more to keep around the house, in the car, etc. Can't imagine using anything else. They also clean up really nicely (and easily) in my sonic cleaner (using only hot water and dish soap).

Never had a cigar a Palio couldn't cut. Cant imagine using anything else.

I used to love Palio, my first one lasted 6 years then swapped it for a new one after it started to go blunt, I don't know if they changed manufacturing processes but I had to go through 4 new ones to finally get a decent one that didnt pull/rip my cigars to pieces.

I have a new Palio also and it seems to be a bit rough on the caps?????

Palio & table top quad cutter for me.

I sent Xikar for sharpening and it came back not so sharp, so I sent it back. It came back with same dull edges, so I threw it away..

My cutter for the last few years:

I keep it with me for herfs and in the car for cigars on the ride home from work. Best cutter I've owned. I have a palio around somewhere collecting dust but haven't used it in many moons!

x2, been my go to cutter for along time

Two v cutters and two guillotine, one of each for small to medium cigars and one of each for medium to extra large

And the credo 3 in 1 punch

Now that is some nice gear! Are they pricy?

The Cuban crafter's perfect cutter is a very nice cutter for $15. Mine has cut a bunch of cigars and is still sharp. Cheap enough it isn't a big deal if you loose it. I also have a Xikar I use at home.

I use the Cuban Crafters perfect as well, as well, and generally speaking it gets the job done. Not a sharp, clean enough cut for my liking though.

Still what else can you expect for 20-odd bucks.

Gotta agree. I just got the Cuban Crafters Perfect two days ago. Cut one of my regular stogies with it last night. Seemed almost like it compressed the tobacco a little much and had a tight draw. I felt my punch would have been better. Maybe just a tight smoke but I haven't had one yet out of the box that way. Giving it another go this afternoon.

I just tried it again and noticed it cuts into the cap but then rebounds back slightly rather than establishing a clean cut. Think I might set it aside and next time I have my gunsmith tools out, try putting a bit finer edge on the accessible blade edge.

I used to be a huge Palio fan. For years they were pretty much my goto cutter. I must have 4 of them. This past year though I've found them lacking and have gone back to Xikar. Xikar was what I started with in the beginning, but I hated that tear drop shape. For some reason now I love it. Easy to use, and I find them much better in build quality than the Palios. Then again, what do I know...I still smoke NC cigars.

I'd have to agree. I would really like to try that creedo. Cheap punch I had the cap fell off and ran away. I just bought a xikar about a month ago and its already showing wear and damage on the blade despite the re tractability. That credo looks like it folds nicely to protect the blades and with three sizes looks like the ticket.

Yeah there's an oval option and a square design, both come in black or silver. I've used mine on everything from Demi tasse up to sublimes for going on two years now and still razor sharp. Small enough to go on your keyring too

Ditto with the Xikar punch. I think the edge is too fine and feathers easily. Ran it over a stone I use for my spydercos and it brought it up fantastically. Maybe give that a try (use at least 1000 - 2000 grit)

I've only ever bought cheap guillotine cutters, I usually default to a really sharp knife which I have many of & always one in my pocket pa7ehane.jpg

Colibri spring loaded cutter I got from CI. Cuts clean every time. Think I paid 12 bux for it. Call me cheap, but I just can't bring myself to pay 50, 60, or even 100 bux for a cutter. Also have a Cuban Crafter's scissor cutter that I've had forever. Still works well.

Sorry to dig up the old thread, but just pulled the trigger on one of these stainless steel tabletop quad cutters. Not sure if cutters fall under the same restrictions about pricing/sourcing, so I'll just say that I found it on a popular discount site in the US today for about $10 less than I've seen them in the past.

Had my eye on these for awhile, curious how members here feel about them. Durable? Good cuts?

The Perfect Cutter by Cuban Crafters. (It's also the cheapest I have ever owned). It comes in several models and cuts the perfect amount off the cap every time. I've been putting it through abuse for 5 years now and it still makes nice and clean perfect cuts.

I have several laying around and have gifted many to my buddies. It's great at any price, but the price on this just makes it better. I will never buy a different cutter for the rest of my days.

Another vote for the Perfect Cutter here...lifetime guarantee, self sharpening....the best cutter I've ever owned.

Had them for years, and it stays very sharp. almost to point of dangerous so I keep it in the shed and use it for second cuts on plugged cigars..
