RockemSockem Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 just got this baby yesterday. not sure about the long haul but it sure looks cool Just wondering how you liked this cutter. I asked for one for Christmas this year, I must be on the nice list So far, it's very sharp, but not great at cutting larger ring gauges. I've had to experiment with how I hold it. The two pieces of the scissors are not super tight (little wiggle) so if I use my thumb to squeeze, the end of the scissors sometimes hit each other and I don't get a straight cut through. If I flip over the cutter and use my index finger to squeeze I've had good results. It is a beautiful cutter!
Firebender Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Just got Xikar VX V-Cut. It does keep the cap in very good shape; would be perfect for coronas.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bclass1 Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Just got Xikar VX V-Cut. It does keep the cap in very good shape; would be perfect for coronas.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That's more a cats eye cut if you will.. I own the same one, same finish as well. I also have a Colibri V-cut which is a true V. Much deeper than what the Xikar cuts off. It takes some getting used to while smoking and I only use it on larger rg cigars every so often. I like the Xikar better all around and is more versatile. Nice choice.
LLC Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Just got Xikar VX V-Cut. It does keep the cap in very good shape; would be perfect for coronas.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I typically only use a V cut for a pyramid. Works great.
Habana Mike Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 The credo 4 in 1 (or is it 3 in 1?) fold up punch is great, I use it pretty much on everything now I believe it's the 3 in 1 if the same as I have. http://www.cigaraficionado.com/webfeatures/show/id/15629 Never thought that 14 mm punch would come in handy until the CRS came out!

I have the exact same and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again...what a great cutter!
terrantheman Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Love my xikar x3 lost my first gen but the x3 cuts a zillion times better. Love the beechwood effect!
Ubergosupro69 Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Palio and xikar Xi are both excellent. Palin is harder to find though. If I could only have one it'd be palio
stunod Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Once you use this baby, you will never want to use a hand cutter again. Have one at the office and soon to have one at the house.
Firebender Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I got a new Xikar X8 updated version and it is awesome and so sharp that when I barely touched the blade it cut my finger. This is way better than the Xi cutters that have mechanical issues. No springs or anything to create mishaps. Just two blades and I like how one is stationary. I have noticed other cutters going to this. It seems cleaner and less pressing of the cigar. $25 on Ebay including shipping. Blows away a Palio and less money. Looks good, and I just ordered the same from Amazon
TCContender Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 just got this baby yesterday. not sure about the long haul but it sure looks cool If my experience with Laguiole wine openers and knives hold true, you will get years and years of top-notch service from this cutter. BTW, my wife thanks you for putting another gadget on my radar!
Firebender Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Just got X8 and first impression; very sharp Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hunter1974 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Palio or Xikar. I've had both and they have each been great. They also have a lifetime warranty. If one gets jacked up you can just take it to an authorised dealer and they will take care of it for you. Unfortunately the warranty doesn't do you much good if you lose the actual cutter, like I did with the Palio. Thats my problem I would loose my nuts if they werent in a sack lol
Hunter1974 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Colibri spring loaded cutter I got from CI. Cuts clean every time. Think I paid 12 bux for it. Call me cheap, but I just can't bring myself to pay 50, 60, or even 100 bux for a cutter. Also have a Cuban Crafter's scissor cutter that I've had forever. Still works well. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk I have this spring loaded cutter also got from CI and love it! better than the xikar I have 1

Ubergosupro69 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Ordered a xikar x8 to test out. At the price, I couldn't think of a reason not to
