targa88 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Xikar Xi3. Suppose to be top quality stainless. It does a reasonable job on figurados/pyrmades by I will not use it on parejos. For those always use a punch. Now if I could find one of these cutters....(courtesy of an italian BOTL) 1
oliverdst Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Are they made in Germany? I am sure I saw them to be sold somewhere. If I remember I will let you know.
oliverdst Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Maybe I was thinking about this one: Anyway, http://www.emporiobe...ate-worlds.html Look for "cigar". 1
Fosgate Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 Considering this one. Any opinions? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004P4QFYM/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=31GW357QFCC7O&coliid=I2CSF7Y8VCP6BY
cigcars Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Cuban Crafters Perfect Cutter and Palio, both gold tone, adorn my ready-for-use humidor area. I also own a Zino cutter discounted from the $62 price to $45 for me, and a Xikar Mean Sardine gifted to me. I am really looking for a good V-cutter. I seldom do a V-cut and have a couple of "cheapies" here, but that would be my "to get" cutter some time. 1
Oscar300 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I have lots of freebies, they all suck compared to my Xikar X8. Proper bit of kit that one and cheap(ish).
Skyfall Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I've used several high end and pricey cutters over the years, and I've concluded that the best cutter I have ever owned is: The Perfect Cutter by Cuban Crafters. (It's also the cheapest I have ever owned). It comes in several models and cuts the perfect amount off the cap every time. I've been putting it through abuse for 5 years now and it still makes nice and clean perfect cuts. I have several laying around and have gifted many to my buddies. It's great at any price, but the price on this just makes it better. I will never buy a different cutter for the rest of my days. http://www.cubancraf...all-ring-sizes/ 4
Cohiba Stevie Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I like xikar cutters. I have two of them, much preferred to my Palio which I hate.

Random Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I know. I also have a lighter that is no good. Didn't know they send the stuff over to the troops. Wonder how that all works from Canada.... I called them in regard of my not too tight Xicar Envoy case. They told me I can visit any vendor that sells the same cases and vendor must replace my case with a proper one no questions asked. Exact same for any and every Xikar product. Lifetime warranty.
Philprop Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I was using the cheapie plastic one for a while at first, then I upgraded to a cheapie stainless one, but then decided to go with a Xikar Xi 2(?) in Carbon fibre. Gotta say, I like it a lot. Looks pretty cool and cuts all my smokes cleanly. But I am seriously considering picking up the Colibri Tonino Lamborghini Le Mans cutter. But I'm looking for a little more feedback first. I think they're one of the coolest looking cutters out there.

But I'm looking for a little more feedback first. I think they're one of the coolest looking cutters out there. I was seriously looking at that Cutter and Lighter combo myself after spotting it when Cigar Vixen was doing a cigar review and used them to cut and light. I think my deciding factor was I just don't want to be a guy in the lounge with a Lambo lighter and cutter and not own a Lambo. I wound up buying both the Xicar Ultra lighter and cutter combo as well as the Cuban Crafter mentioned here.
CaptainQuintero Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 The credo 4 in 1 (or is it 3 in 1?) fold up punch is great, I use it pretty much on everything now
markmurase Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 My favourite is Xikar Ultra-Thin cutter.
targa88 Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Is that a "Mohel's Choice" cutter? I think it might be a Savinelli = now to find one...

Thats good to know! Did you replace it? Where?
zmancbr Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 My cutter for the last few years: I keep it with me for herfs and in the car for cigars on the ride home from work. Best cutter I've owned. I have a palio around somewhere collecting dust but haven't used it in many moons!

ramon_cojones Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 xikars are super awkward to handle palios are pretty good, too bulky though i use a plastic self sharpening zino and a cheap wolfe single guillotine that works fine, sometimes i just peel the cap off
C67 Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I have used a xikar xi1 for years, one of the springs broke on my original one so I made use of their excellent warranty to get a replacement, perfect cut every time. I also have a colibri 64RG cutter that is great for bigger NCs and a recently acquired punch that I have started to favour for smaller cigars, particularly short filler like JLPs and Quinteros as it really cuts down on loose tobacco coming out when smoking.
CaptainQuintero Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Two v cutters and two guillotine, one of each for small to medium cigars and one of each for medium to extra large And the credo 3 in 1 punch
bresdogsr Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I use my Savoy double gullitine, Xikar Mean Sardine or my Little Havana cutter.
Jimmy70 Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I have no doubt (even personal experience of many years), the best is certainly palio!
CaptainQuintero Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I have no doubt (even personal experience of many years), the best is certainly palio! I used to love Palio, my first one lasted 6 years then swapped it for a new one after it started to go blunt, I don't know if they changed manufacturing processes but I had to go through 4 new ones to finally get a decent one that didnt pull/rip my cigars to pieces.
