Not a drinker anymore (I've tried to start again. God, how I've tried). So for me it's tea hot or iced, coffee, lemon lime bitters or soft drinks. Some of these rums look like they'd be great to try though. Wish alcohol didn't make me feel like sh....
trinidead Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 First post! New CC smoker here. HDM Epicure no. 2 with a thick cappuccino. If anything other than women can give me a hard-on, it would be this combination. 2
Simps Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I love a Dip 2 with a nice port Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Coolio Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I'm off the grog this Feb, and have discovered that Genmaicha (the green tea with roasted rice) is pairing really well with my Party Shorts, Monte 3's and Upmann PC's so far. Normally i drink muscat or port while smoking any cc, and nespresso with a Party shorts in the am. I've found i can't drink my single malts with a cc as i drink a lot when i smoke. the scotch knocks me over pretty quickly, then i smoke a lot faster, 'green out' and have to go lie down! Just waiting for March to come around, as I have an unopened Ron Zacapa hidden in the cupboard waiting patiently!
BradNC Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Orange soda is always good with a cc - to me at least.
IanMcLean68 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Smoking a 3 year old Monte 2 and pairing that with an 18 year Laphroaig right now and I am in heaven. I found a JW Black and soda with lots of ice paired well with a Boli PC a few nights ago :-)
bogglor Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I can't pair the peaty / smoky scotches that I like with cigars. For whatever reason, I just find the tastes to clash somewhat. In a strange twist, I do like the pairing of Laphroaig and latakia heavy pipe tobacco blends. Campfire and campfire together in perfect harmony. Bourbon is my go-to drink with all non-maduro wrapped NCs and most CCs. I like lighter, sherried scotches with lighter bodied CCs as well. My favorite ever pairing was a Cohiba 1966 with Macallan 18. An expensive sitting, yes, but a tremendous experience.
Troels Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 As bogglor I also find the peaty scotch hard to pair om the rocks. This might be revolving to a lot of you, but I find that laphroig mixed with 7up pairs well with the cc's
Jimmy70 Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I love Cohiba with some Royal Lochnagar. It's a paradisiacal experience. If you add a little piece of dark chocolate, it's perfect!
cigcars Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I'm a teetotaler and drink only iced honey sweetened herb tea with my smokes.
mrbritish1976 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Chai tea , makers mark or an espresso / latte Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
AbuAmelia Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Don't laugh, but I was drinking Piña Colada with my cigars all week while on vacation and enjoyed them just as well if not better than drinking a scotch or cognac. Maybe it was the atmosphere. Father of Amelia 1
Gogicha Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I've never tried my cigars with Piña Colada or any rum, but sounds like a good idea. My evening routine is a habano with an Irish Whiskey https://www.swisscubancigars.com/
Jeremy Festa Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Champagne, mostly. Whisky or cognac if it's late, or really early. Beer if the barbecue is cranking. Gin or rum if it's daytime, and hot. Campari in the afternoons. Coffee at breakfast.
CUBANO Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 a Cuban cigar and Havana Club. especially the Barrel Proof.
melies Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Some of my favorites combos: El Rey del Mundo - Grandes de españa and an illy espresso in the morning El Rey del mundo - Choix de L Epoque ER Britania and an extra dry London No. 1 Martini LGC 2 and a glass of Champagne La Escepcion - selectos finos and a Gin & Tonic (properly prepared that is) Monte 4 and JW black on ice (because i have been drinking this forever lol)
dowjr1 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 That's interesting. I've never had Gin with cigars, it always seems like an odd combination to me but I'll give it try when the weather gets warmer (don't ask me why, but Gin is more of a summer spirit to me). Personally I always like a good quality Port with a cigar, Rum as well of course. Occasionally a nice Whisky but I usually like to drink Whisky on its own, not while smoking. Have been trying some cigar - Belgian beer combinations as well lately and that works pretty well as well, especially the darker beers. The fun is in the trying! Tang. and tonic is my fav summer drink and goes great with cigars for sure.
maxcjs0101 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Milk, seriously try it Oh..Why have i not thought about this. What would your preference be? Cold, warm or room temp?
maxcjs0101 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Coca Cola or Orange Soda I used to have coke until someone from Puff forums suggested i tried root beer.
