C67 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Hi there, I'm kev, from the UK. I just thought I'd stop by and say hi as my first post here. I'm a classic car enthusiast and currently restoring my 1972 ford cortina. I've been smoking cigars for about 15 years or so, but it's only really in the past 5 years that it's become a regular thing and a serious hobby. I also play guitar and upright bass and spent a few years in a gigging rockabilly band. I work in psychiatry as a nurse and I think that's had a bearing on my cigar smoking - nothing helps me to unwind after a shift like a good smoke and a think. I've been a semi active member on another site for a little while now so I'm sure there will be a few familiar folks on here too,

Pedro2486 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Hi kev, welcome. A mate and I once had a late 70's XLE cortina with a tarted up pre xflow 250. Great fun car in British racing green. But we broke it pretty much every time we took it out. Must've pushed that bloody thing more than I drove it Sadly we sold/swapped it for a Capri. Last time we saw it, it had been all tubbed and turned into a drag/burnout car. They even cut thru the original bonnet?!?! Cheers mate
C67 Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Pedro, those Aussie cortinas have a near legendary status amongst UK cortina owners, big straight sixes and bonnet bulges that we never saw (the biggest engine factory fitted in the UK was the 2.0 pinto).

Yeah it certainly got a lot of interest from the UK contingent over here. Now I'm bloody missing that car again
