Vortigan Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I've just taken the best part of 2 hours to smoke an Epi #2 this afternoon so therein lies the reason that I don't smoke DC's I'll have the occasional Churchill but it's really a special occasion smoke for me and a 3 hour event.
mgravito Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread, but it didn't seem worthy of a new thread altogether. I have a lot of robustos, PCs, coronas, and lanceros, but I want to pick up a box of DCs or Churchills. Any recommendations? I'd really like Sir Winstons, but those seem to be out of stock and I'm not sure how soon I can expect them back.
Guybrush Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Ramon Allones Gigantes. Or you take the last chance to buy Saint Luis Rey Double Coronas.
mgravito Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Is that why there are only cabs of 50 available?
Onsto Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Smoking, reading, smoking, discussing, smoking, thinking, smoking... Nice to see you active here again Ron!

I could never take that long for a robusto. It would definitely go out on me! So what is your secret? Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
Charltonc Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I hope SLR dcs aren't being discontinued, I might have to kill myself.
shlomo Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I hope SLR dcs aren't being discontinued, I might have to kill myself. Thats a little dramatic for a cigar....no? LOL
poorman Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I've just taken the best part of 2 hours to smoke an Epi #2 this afternoon I can't get a DC to last the whole font nine, roughly two hours.
Jnaube Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Take up golf. Plenty of time to finish a DC. Hoyo DC on the front. Lusi for the back. Great day. I love the way you think!
ag794516 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I love DCs and Churchills. Especially Partagas Lustitanias and SLR DCs. We all know that if you smoke a DC you need time. Moastly up to 21/2 hours. Is this a problem? I think not! Most of the people don' t take their time relaxing and enjoying a fine DC. This is the original way to enjoy a great cuban cigar. Today they smoke like they are between doors. No time dor all. In the past it worked. Why? What are the reasons for you to smoke a cigar? Smoke or enjoying? For sure in the daily business there is often no time and the lofe is going faster now, but i think we all can decide a bit how fast it goes. When I see the politics especially sales of cuban cigars, it is terrific how many types are discontinued. Tge SLR DC is one of it. Gone. Of course not a favorite of all but a classic cigar. Many Churchills are discontinued. Decreasing sales numbers of Churchill and DC are based on the same reason I mentioned. Time... Hopefully the types which are still in production will have a better future. So my advise and this is only my opinion which nobody must agree. Take your time for the actual types Robusto and so on, but get also back to the old classic way of enjoying a cuban cigar. Please try DCs and Churchills. They are worth your time. 1
ramon_cojones Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I just don't enjoy the flavors most dcs have to offer or I'd smoke more of them. I'd have to sample at least 3 before committing to an expensive box.
Armaniac Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Personally I really enjoy DC's. It's a perfect cigar to watch a hockey game and will last through overtime and the shootout!
