Afternoon Gents (& ladies)

I'm indulging my inner geek this arvo and got to wondering.

There a quite a few apps and browser based cigar related programs floating around and I'm trying out a few, most seem to be just a gimmick.

Does anyone have any great suggestions for such programs? Or are they all a waste of time

Hope all are having a great weekend

I was just having a fiddle with habanos official app. I looks cool and has all habanos SA brands and a good humidor function but it was running too slow to be smoothly used and a few bugs adding some cigars to your humi. With more work it would be good.

Still more of a gimmick though

this might be a good project for anyone on here who is a programmer I know i would love to have a rely well sorted cigar app

Not for me. One of the joys of the hobby for me is not knowing exactly what is in the cabinet. Just the other day I was surprised by half a box of RA mille fleurs stashed away, that I completely forgotten. It tasted great by the way.

I use... Well.. TRY to use stogie rate to track inventory. Decent app.. Amazing online database and very professional user interface. But I never seem to be able to use it routinely.

Good point.

I guess the other side of the coin is that some find an extension in the enjoyment of a hobby buy sorting, cataloging, arranging, etc. sort of vicariously extending the enjoyment of a cigar when you are unable to smoke one.

BTW just finished a Por Larranaga belicosos Asia pacific RE. Great non-vicarious enjoyment ;)

Mobile Stogie was perfect back when it was being updated. Someone should track down the guy who wrote it and offer to update the cigars for it. I'd pay for a new version with more cigars.

Nice one nino.

On a semi related note. Has anyone tried using a arduino or like an atmedia chip with rH and temp sensors to then control fans, active humidifier and cooling (in the case of a wineador)?

I'm sure there are controllers for it, but it would be a cool little project

To google!

The new Cigar Oasis units have an optional plug-in USB unit that connects to your WIFI network so you can check on temp and humidity with a Smartphone app.

Might be cool if you need a new humidifier in the future.

Have to agree here. Every time I rotate my winecoolers I find something I did not realize I had. Last time I did it found a 08 50 cab of Part Luises and half a box of Monte Sublimes)
