Been thinking about purchases for the year. Anywhere from fivers to full boxes, depending on price. A ranges from new marcas/vitolas to old favorites. Curious to see what others are looking to purchase in 2014

My list

Old standards

RASS cab

Cohiba Siglo VI, lancero, Esplendido

Cohiba BHK 54

Montecristo especial

New to the humidor

H Upmann Connasieur A (regret not picking up a box last November. Good cigar)

H Upmann Connie no. 1 (maybe a fiver to start. Heard lots of good things about this cigar, need to try)

Edicion Limitada

2013 punch Serie D'Oro (best of the 3 IMHO)

2014 Cohiba Robusto Supremos (I know what you are thinking.....lol)

2014 bolivar super corona

New vitola

Trinidad vigila (interested to try more than anything)

Discontinued (if they come up)

Any Ramon Allones

Any ERDM

80s or early 90s Partagas 898s

White whales

Davidoffs

Dunhill

Cubatobacco 25th Anniversario

What are looking to purchase in 2014?

Por Larranaga Picadores, I'm full up on everything else now; prepared for the end of the embargo, bring it on!

gonna keep on buying my favorites for fear they will be deleted. not gonna chase any limited cigar, but would like to try some of them. older punch and oldef bolivar are always on my list. certainly l

I have slowed my buying way down and am now in maintenance mode - basically replacing what I smoke. Exceptions will be: - A couple of singles of the LE and RE that I haven't had a chance to try yet,

I'm setting aside some nickels right now for the below order.

2 boxes of Coro

2 boxes of Diplomaticos #2

2 boxes of Bolivar Royal Corona

I'm not sure what the rest of the year may bring, that's a long time. I would like a box of La Flor De Cano Grandiosos but the price tag is high and it looks like the secondary market is the only place to find these now.

I said on an australian forum that 2014 will be the year of PC for me. I have more than enough large size cigars to last me a very long time. I will buy cabs and boxes of PC/Perla sized cigars to replensih my stock as i smoke them (My favourite size as i tend to have short smoke time frames).

Will purchase whatever good stock El Pres finds at the end of the day i guess.

This year will probably not be as plentyfull as 2013, as I have bought a lot. This year, I am looking to purchase mainly smaller cigars, I also have more than enough larger cigars to last me a few years, so this year the line up will look something like this:

Lanceros

RASCC

More Mag 46

A few boxes of PLMC

PLPC

Any LGC that come up at the LFTW

Connie A's

Cab of RASS

And probably more PC's/Minutos

After my recent Cohiba Magicos experience, which I thoroughly enjoyed and after reading El Pres' tests with the siglo/genios wrappers, I'm on the hunt to try as many maduro wrapped cigars as my wallet will allow. Suggestions anyone?

Have just ordered a 10 box of secretos as they do look promising.

Also some Hoyo de Monterey grand epicure would be lovely. Maybe the cigar fairy will bring some for my birthday.

And I've not tried anything from the Punch marca yet. Or fuente. Those diesels, I would like to sample and the short Nubs look pretty cool

Anyone looking to purchase a kidney? Only one owner, low km

After 2013 was a good year, and I started to stock up with basic cigars, 2014 I want to go on with larger models. I have some favorites which I want to purchase if there are good deals and I have the money. I know that not all will be possible to get but hopefully one or two boxes. One box of course for my brother. A Juan Lopez Selection No. 2.

And for me:

H.Upmann Magnum 50

Bolivar Coronas Gigantes

Cohiba Robusto

Cohiba Siglo V

Cohiba Lanceros

H.Upmann Sir Winston

This year I want to try a Behike. I'm still building my stash and the thought of dropping 400+ on a box of 10 while there's so much standard production I've yet to try. But this year I'm finally going to do it.

Also, this year, I'm buying Sir Winstons and Siglo VIs and I'm getting my hands on as many Party 898s as I can before Habanos inevitably pulls the plug.

Good thread.

While EL's and RE's interest me I'm going to take a more conservative approach to them. Try a few, then see if I want to get a box.

Otherwise, I'll continue to stock up on regular production stuff I enjoy.

In no particular order:

  • QdO Coronas. Fantastic sticks. Smoking some 11's that are excellent. Perhaps some more boxes to age.
  • RASS. Have plenty, but would consider one more 50 CAB.
  • Partagas 898. Given Habanos hatchet job of "long and skinnies", perhaps this is another stick I want to go deep on.
  • RyJ Cazadores. (See above.) :)
  • Montecristo Especial No 1's (ibid)
  • LGC No 2's. (ibid)
  • Bolivar Royal Coronas. Finally gave them a try. I like them.
  • HdM Du Dauphines. Tasty, subtle cigars.
  • VR Unicos. Hands down, my favourite torpedo.
  • Dip 2's. Runner up torpedo. :P
  • PSD4's. Have plenty, but wouldn't turn down a nice looking box or an aged one.
  • Custom rolls. Whenever the opportunity arises.

Some longshots.

  • Trinidad Robusto T's. If I see them and the price is right, I'm buying.
  • Trinidad Robusto Extras (see above)
  • Cohiba Esplendidos. Have various fivers from different years. Wouldn't mind a box.
  • Cohiba Lanceros. (See above).
  • Aged stock. 8+ years. Of pretty much anything.

I told myself I would buy some different stock for the humi this year. I don't normally buy belis and DCs so I would like to grab some stuff like this:

Sir Winnie

Rass cab

La punta

Vr unicos

Slr DC cab

Parti lusi cab

Dip 2

Then of course I'd like some new items:

Noelas jar

Superiores

Maybe some Spanish REs and a couple Asian REs that I don't have

Connie A

If I manage this I'd be pretty happy.

RASS 50s

Will be game to try any of the 2014 ELs

*Money permitting; more Partagas, Bolivars and Ramon Allones. Additionally Jose`L. Piedras and possibly a few Quinteros for quick smokes.

Already bought what I planned to buy for the year. Probably would buy the following just to stock up on what I already have:

Royal Robusto

RASS cab

havent heard of this. any details?

I think it's from 2011 to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations. Comes with 25 Distinguidos (52x162). It's the only jar I would spend money on if I can find one.

Absolutely no desire for ELs as usual, possibly a couple of ERs but definitely won't be buying secretos biggrin.png

WIll continue to buy fantastic regular production to make sure they don't discontinue.

-everything RA

-10 boxes of d4

-definitely need at least a couple box 898

-multiple boxes of my staples

-replenish partially smoked cohibas

-sprinkling of qdo, jl and rg

-more smaller cigars

-nothing over 50 rg with rare exception

so basically more of the same, my humi is tightly edited/curated collection of mainly ra, partagas, cohiba and upmann

I have slowed my buying way down and am now in maintenance mode - basically replacing what I smoke.

Exceptions will be:

- A couple of singles of the LE and RE that I haven't had a chance to try yet, if I happen to run into them (RyJ EL 2013 and LFDC APAC RE, for example)

- The 2013 and 2014 German RE, if somewhat reasonably priced

- Special occasion rewards to myself: LFDC UK RE box, Boli Libertador LCDH box

- Any "can't miss" discontinued/aged sticks of my favorites that may pop up (Bolivar Coronas, Punch Coronas, ...)

All in all I don't think I'll be buying more than ~400 cigars this year which is slighly more than what I will smoke this year.

I need to get a formula and stick to it or at least a game plan. Pretty much just buy anything that looks good. Lately have been on a crazy RE run. Loving the RA RE's though I have to say.

Off top of my head:

another 50 cab RASS (2013 one I have is awesome)

LGC 3's would like to try and if good load up on.

Epi 2's (my favorite went deep on in 2013)

RA Superiors (loved so far at least 5 more)

Monte 520 ( just got my first box and am impressed shooting for another 9 boxes)

Monte Grand Edmundo ( these are smoking great trying to get all I can find)

Cohiba 1966 (would like a box or 2)

JL 2's

BPC

BRC

Monte 2'

Wish list:

A few boxes of German RE's Ramon Allones

PGR

RA Phoencos, Gladiators, Grandes

Some Boli RE's

SLR pacificos a few boxes

PL belicoso a few boxes

JL 4's a few boxes

ERDM Infantes a few boxes

Quai Superiors a box

As many indicate, so much depends on what you have, what you are low on, and what you want to try.

Mostly tried and true regulars for me:

Bolivar RCs so I can resist smoking through my BBFs

RASCC

H Upmann Mag 48 (nice small and tasty smoke) and Connie's

Hoyo Epi 2

Partagas D4 and E2s
