westg Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Probably would have gone for the slimmer long and skinnies already mentioned or PLPC..so out on a limb SLR Serie A
garnett Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Off to catch a plane but see who can decipher this cigar riddle. Will post the winner tomorrow morning. One pick per person. Brothers and Sisters I had plenty but almost all have fallen by the wayside. The history of my marque is long and proud. My own history predates Ali winning the Summer Olympic Light heavyweight Gold medal. Popular I somewhat am particularly amongst those that respect the lustrum. My moods are many throughout my evolution. What set's me apart in many ways is that I have defied a significant trend. Name me. Heawns Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Ali was known as Cassius Clay when he won the Olympic Gold,in 1960. The lustrum was a purification ceremony held every 5 years after the census by the ancient Romans. All of the original LGC sizes were pre 1960,only 2 are left. The list of original sizes has been purified down to the Medaille d'Oro #2 and # 4. Twelve other sizes have fallen by the wayside.(brothers and sisters). Popular I somewhat am.......Among followers, hugely popular, untried by so many. My moods are many..............Goes through several stages as it ages..... Have defied a significant trend.......one of the last Dalia vitolas left...... La Gloria Cubana Medaille d'Oro #2 From the very first 10 cigars I tried som 7 years ago they stood out to me.The 1998 ones are now in a very toned down stage for me. 2 years ago they were much stronger with more texture in the smoke. Still has a lot of peppery flavours however, extremely peppery after a while, just like a 1980s RyJ PC I smoked. Whitepepper, cedar, dried apricots. An absolutely amazing creamy finish in the latest one I smoked.
Jeremy Festa Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Punch Punch Clever. Didn't even think of that. If its not PLPC or MC, it has to be this!
Cigar Surgeon Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Since everything else has been guessed... H. Upmann Petit Corona.

MIKA27 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 A 1997 release? we're talking about a pre 1960 cigar here… Thanks, I took a stab whilst flicking through the forum while on holiday. I guess I'm not too anal about Googling release dates on cigars, I just enjoy smoking them....
tmac77 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Rob..... Going to post the answer up or just keep us in suspense
El Presidente Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Rob..... Going to post the answer up or just keep us in suspense Ok I will hop off the stepladder for a few minutes. Brothers and Sisters I had plenty but almost all have fallen by the wayside. The glory days are long gone. Such a travesty as one of the fallen is still one of my favourite cigars of all time. The history of my marque is long and proud. My own history predates Ali winning the Summer Olympic Light heavyweight Gold medal. 1830's from memory this marque began. Popular I somewhat am particularly amongst those that respect the lustrum. My moods are many throughout my evolution. Lustrum refers to a period of 5 years. The cigar is renowned for its aging evolution. What set’s me apart in many ways is that I have defied a significant trend. Dress boxes of 25 and SLB 25's were discontinued in 2002. In a world where packaging is being trimmed down to smaller lot's, retaining cabinets of 50 while discontinuing 25's appears unprecedented. Name me. Marque and cigar Por larranaga Petit Corona
mk05 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I guess the PLPC. I would have guessed Bolivar Belicoso Finos, Partagas Presidentes, or 50 cab of Partagas Shorts.
