Orion21 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Amazing cigars Rob. You were right in your review when you said they needed 18-24 months to settle down. I smoked my first few in March of 2012 and reviewed it HERE . Since then these have smoked really really well. I have one and half boxes left and they are prized cigars. About 1,000 times better than the Bolivar Britannica from the UK. Since they seem to be gone from the market I am happy to have some stock.
shlomo Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 The vitolla is very good. Anybody try the Britannicas to compare. Now those are excellent and will age with grace imo.

Orion21 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I smoked three of the Britannica and found them sour and closed. Not much of anything going on. This was shortly after they were released, so maybe the have come around? But the RACF are amazing for me.
sactochris Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I was just about to pull the trigger on a box of these and then they disappeared.
El Presidente Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 The vitolla is very good. Anybody try the Britannicas to compare. Now those are excellent and will age with grace imo. It just goes to show how taste is so personal. Had a Britannica with Rob Fox at the house we were staying in Havana (NOV 12). I think all the Canadian lads were there as well as it was an afternoon shindig on the water. Foxy brought the box. They were seriously average cigars as agreed by those who tried them then. Like smoking wet, fermenting tobacco. Rob also brings Irish Whisky and good humour so all is forgiven

At release I can't remember such a bad cigar (brit) I never went back to try after such a shocking first few goes, right up there with the RAE :s

srsMichael Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Wanted to pick up a box but missed out. Cant find them anywhere now!
bassman Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Loved them fresh, love them now. Powerful & tasty. Bought more of these than any other RE & am very happy i did.
MontrealRon Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Anybody have any comments on the RA Petit Unicos? These at least can still be found.
shlomo Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Anybody have any comments on the RA Petit Unicos? These at least can still be found. Not bad, not great. Not worth the RE price tag imo. I know a handful of other Montreal BOTL who LOVE them like mad. Its the only Canada RE I don't have....for a reason. I much prefer the VR Petit Robaina though. About the same price. So much more rich, elegant and pronounced flavours.
Habana Mike Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Smoking a CF right now, just a stellar cigar for me. I've had a few recently and this one is still packing a punch as it approaches the mid-point. Incredible dirt, fruit, leather and molasses paired with decent strength and quite a zing on the retro. Marathon finish - rich, rich flavors hang on and on.....these should only get better and better for some time to come. Glad I managed to grab a few boxes before they disappeared!.
Laxman Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Love the RACF. Have been lucky to have grabbed a few boxes the last two months. Had one when they first came out and was all power and no finesse. Now the power has faded and they have been sweet and fruity. One of my favor cigars as of late. Would love to get as many boxes as I can but they are hard as heck to find.
Habana Mike Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Ok, that's it. I'm smoking one tonight... Let us know what you thought. I had another last night, again quite good. These are a mid-90's smoke for me almost every time. Rarely a dud. 1

Very good. Creamy, flavoursome, with a genuine weight to the smoke. Its only the fourth I've smoked from my box - first this year. Will try to save the majority for the future. I'm yet to have a dud.
Lant63 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 I still wish I would have have bought a box of these. I have one single left, the first four were amazing. At 400 is till would, at 500 I'll pass.
