Nedule Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Anyone ever bought or built an ammo box humidor? They look cool, would make a nice office humidor, something unique.
Guest rob Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Nino has a similar style of storage to that.
Brickhouse Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I've done one, but did it in Iraq literally out of a recently used .50 cal box because storage was needed. I washed it thoroughly, broke up box cedar to line it, and added a hygrometer. It worked like a charm. This one is a lot nicer though.
Colt45 Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 That is pretty neat. As Rob mentioned, Nino uses a relatively similar style box - this link has some images, along with a number of great humidors: Link
stukibuilt Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I've always wanted one since it combines two of my favorite hobbies... I know Forrest makes a "drop in" tray kit for them but I believe his standard offering is for a smaller 50 cal can. That one is really trick. Sent from my mind using telekinesis and Tapatalk.
Dara Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Not to be pedantic but is that not an army footlocker box or is it for really big ammo like missiles ?
Nedule Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 the box I posted is a missle amo box, http://www.ammodors.com/ will custom make them. The more common ones are the 50 cal boxes. No matter what size you go with, they're pretty cool.
stukibuilt Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 That WWII 50 cal can is awesome. I'm trying to justify the need for one now... Ha! Sent from my mind using telekinesis and Tapatalk.
Nino Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Nino has a similar style of storage to that. That is pretty neat. As Rob mentioned, Nino uses a relatively similar style box - Relatively similar - while I use only Zarges boxes, one of them used to be a German Army (Bundeswehr) large medical supplies box ( not ammo) and comes in olive with a red cross. That is the one pictured here : All the others are regular silver coloured metal boxes like this :
