dangolf18 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Besides making lamps out of cigar boxes, what do y'all do with them. I have 30 boxes that I don't know what to do with.
polarbear Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I made something similr for my little sister last Christmas out of an Opus X Double Corona Box I've given a few to a mate to try and make guitars If i can get my woodworking skills up to scratch i'm gonna try and tackle something like this in the new year
thebigk Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I like that table top but i think I would have used some different boxes
Habana Mike Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I've got a few (lots) sitting empty in a stack in my basement. I toss out many dress boxes but am hard pressed to eliminate the SLBs. What to do with them I don't know. Maybe kindling?
nick17 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I used an empty box as an invitation to an event I pitched for school sorry I cant find the pictures if I do I will post them
Homebrew Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I used a Bolivar Churchill tubos box, for a cash box when I was vending BBQ. I have a project, using SLB panels, to line a cabinet I am building. Got a way to go yet. Will post pictures if I ever finish. Dave (A.K.A. Homebrew)
potpest Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Chuck them out; it's just a box, it's what's inside that counts......
CUBANO Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 they use the boxes as wall art at the local B/M Sent using Tapatalk
Scdalak Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Great Stuff, My nieces and nephew were doing a class project at school, building various structures out of the boxes.. I founds it ironic the teachers were asking for cigar boxes in the most antismoking environment known to man..
Phillys Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I save all my SLB's and transfer whatever was in dress boxes, the rest just sits by the humi (should toss them)
alloy Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I asked my local B&M if they wanted my 20 boxes. They won't take cuban boxes. Oh well, in the garage they sit.
Stanislaw Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Found a good use for my SLB's today.... Pretty decent cigar box guitar amp.... I may build a few of these for the fun of it and recommend it highly...
Stanislaw Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Here's a pic from the rear.... Anybody want one?? 1

mash Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 With those speakers/amps, what stops the wood from vibrating and rattling?
SaintLuis Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I peel the metal off and use them for kindling. Works really well.
Stanislaw Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 YES! That's awesome! Sign me up. If you're interested, PM me, I've got parts to build two more and I'll def make one for you, it's actually a pretty sweet little desktop amp... Definitely! Details please Likewise, PM me and we can figure out details... With those speakers/amps, what stops the wood from vibrating and rattling? The speaker is a small 4 inch speaker and the amp kicks out 1/2 or 1 watt total, it's meant as a small desktop amp not a stadium monster, so rattling isn't an issue... Also, hot glue gun helps to keep things in place, heheheh...
Fosgate Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I use a couple to hold my lighters and cutters etc. The rest I give to my nieces and nephews for their trinkets etc while I get stinkeye from their mom when there sitting there getting a good whiff of the box interior.
