Magpie Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I'll be visiting Hong Kong in March for the HK 7's rugby with family and friends. Any recommendations on cigar friendly bars in Causeway Bay, Central, Wanchai and Lan Kwai Fong areas.
Yipdar Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Smoking is banned in enclosed bars in Hong Kong so you will have to find either a cigar lounge or places with outdoor patios. Here's a couple: Central - Lupa, Sevva, bar isola, wanchai - wooloomooloo, causeway bay - hooray bar. The cigar lounges run by PCC are on their website. Lobster bar at Island shangrila is also friendly.
Ghabanos Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Shangri la also has an outdoor Thai rest by the pool. Excelsior roof top bar in cwb
Magpie Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 I'm staying at the Excelsior so will for sure check out the roof top bar, that's if I can get out of Dickens Bar after the rugby.
Tino Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I really like The Blind Pig on the 6th floor of LKF Tower in Lan Kwai Fong
Edwhatever Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Theres a small cigar room on the 2nd floor of your hotel called Cigar Time. Although they sell grey market cigars, wouldn't hurt to have a look. You could def purchase your cigars there, or any of the recommended PCC shops, then bringing it to almost any bar with a patio. I don't recommend purchasing cigars at the bars themselves that offers cigars, due to their price and lack of maintenance of their cigars. The above mentioned places are worth checking out. The 5th floor of the World Trade Centre (attached to your hotel), is a nice restaurant with a huge patio, I like to smoke there. I find the roof of your hotel too windy, which makes my cigar go out a lot. Also what Yipdar said, check out any of the PCC cigars lounges if you haven't already A while back Rob Ayala also recommended 'The Pawn' in wanchai, they have a humidor of vintage cigars, such as a 1988 Rafael Gonzala. Nice little place to smoke. Don't forget, You can bring your own cigars to any bar/restaurant and smoke them, just not to another cigar lounge.
Magpie Posted November 29, 2013 Author Posted November 29, 2013 Thanks guys, some neat advice and plenty of places to search out. Much appreciated!
