Edwhatever Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 John! Actually, it's not so much about DE. There's a very mottled date code stamped on there I believe. We were at the La Corona factory. At the end of our tour our guide offered to stamp the inside of our hats, clothing or cigar caddies with the latest box code. LEM NOV 13 I believe. It's EML NOV 13 Its still stuck to the bottom of my cigar caddy!
Cigar Surgeon Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 It's EML NOV 13 Its still stuck to the bottom of my cigar caddy! Yeah I think the cigar caddy or a straw hat would have been the way to go. The hat I was wearing was too dark to show off the box code.
habanolover Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Wow, nice pics and I'm sure a wonderful time...but, pray tell, where do they hide all the fine Cuban women when you guys come to town??
Puros Y Vino Posted November 26, 2013 Author Posted November 26, 2013 Thanks, they do look different from the boxes they normally come in. Are these special boxes for the festival? They are bare boxes, prior to "dressing". That was taken on the top floor of the La Corona factory. There's a room where all the wooden dress boxes have their branding and decoration glued on.
ebhead Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Wow, nice pics and I'm sure a wonderful time...but, pray tell, where do they hide all the fine Cuban women when you guys come to town?? That is for another thread....
ebhead Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 ...here are the cigars that were passed out at the Opening and Closing dinners of the Friends Of Partagas, plus one extra...I purposely did not include the box of Chicos that were in gift bag The Humidor was not included, it's something i picked up at the Partagas store after the events. Thanks to Art for pointing the humidor out because I was going crazy trying to figure out a good box to put them in. E

a2vr6 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I was thinking of grabbing one of those nice Humidors like Enis but I had already smoked all the La China's by then. Lol. Great pic's guys.

Cigar Surgeon Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Ah ok, so they are the "naked" version of it. Thanks for that. Yeah the guy knocking out the dressing on the boxes was doing so at a pretty good pace. Was cool to see the entire process.
Cigar Surgeon Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Ed needs to post the pictures of the Governators humidor.
Bartolomeo Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Ed needs to post the pictures of the Governators humidor. I have seen pics of his humi, quite a collection of celebrity humis there
LLC Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Ed needs to post the pictures of the Governators humidor. Here you go.
Cigar Surgeon Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 WOW That was our reaction to all of the humidors they were making. When you saw the conditions in which they were built it was even more awe inspiring.
Optic101 Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Seeing some of the pics you guys posted from that place I get an idea of it. I know it is "selfish" but wouldn't it be interesting to have a "Cuban Humidor" picture thread. I'm sure all of us " HBTCY " (Haven't Been To Cuba Yet) guys would very much appreciate it ....
Puros Y Vino Posted November 30, 2013 Author Posted November 30, 2013 An cool memento for attending the opening and closing nights' dinners at the Partagas Festival. On the opening night I noticed we were getting our photo taken. At the closing dinner a little newspaper was included in our goodies bag. And on page 7.....

Anyone end up getting the DVD of the dinner from the photographer/videographer at the Partagas factory the next day? Would like to get that pic framed up.
oliverdst Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Guys, please, what about the Encuentro? What is good or just a reason to tell wifes you are going to Cuba?

maverickdrinker Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 We went to the opening and closing dinners only. The rest of the time we were doing our own thing. Stuff was privately organized. Traditionally, it has been a boys trip. Many of us have been doing this for a number of years together Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
Nino Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Started posting pictures today - part one of a series on memorable moments, meals and cigars from the recent Cuba trip, will be continued : http://flyingcigar.d...-cigars-part-1/ PS : No Canadians yet in the pictures .... :-)
