El Presidente Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 We are into the final turn of 2013 and thoughts come down to the "Best Of" You have to pick one cigar.....one cigar that this year made the stars and moon align for a magnificent experience....just pick one cigar that to this day...you can remember the sublime experience...if you close your eyes...the one cigar that you can still taste
lordlister Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 VR Maestro...why didn't I go in deeper on these!
Jimm902 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 MC Grand Edmundo...thankfully went long on these
Isotonic Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Upmann No 2... picked up in a sampler earlier this year. Looked ugly with a cracked foot. Like a sweet spiced baked ricotta. Sounds weird. It was truly sensational. Just beat a stellar Siglo VI
potpest Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Hands down a Partagas Lusitanias. I hadn't had a DC for a while before this one, it was just glorious. Reminded me how much I love everything about a good DC; the time, the clear evolution in flavour. A good Churchill or DC is as good as it gets for me.
Profmd Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Monte 520. Love everyone I have had. Quite a few in reserve too (thankfully!)

El Presidente Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 I'm interested to know what yours would be Rob? I have had some absolute cracking cigars 4 weeks ago. My 5th trying of the La Flor De Cano Grandiosos. The first 4 were great. The 5th was at the end of a good day. it was dusk, and I was leaning on the railing on Czar Deck looking at the city skyline with a Cuba Libre in hand. The LFDC was stunning. So sweet/milky, elegant, bready, calming. I can still taste it.
Orion21 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Bolivar Gran Belicoso. They don't get much better.
godpheonix Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 A siglo V, first out of a 2012 HQ box i got from you Rob this summer. a flavor bomb for such a young cigar. i remember you saying it was the best siglo V's you had ever seen. well i beleive you were right! haha! can't wait 4-5 years down the line to see how they mature. should be fantastic! thanks!

Lant63 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 1999 punch SS no 2 absolutely blew me away, perfect draw, perfect construction. Went through a couple changes of chocolate and then coffee with a little spice and the final third had a great peanut butter note to it. Close second was a Dante 54.
dvickery Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 '99 erdm pc ... best cab I had last year ... every one was a great cigar . derrek
Blakes Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Hmmm.. There has been a couple that come to mind but I think the one that really stands out and took me by surprise was the Punch Sabrosos 2011 RE that came with the March HQ sampler, in fact both were excellent. Bursting with flavour and with only 2 year on them. Amazing. Funny thing is I wouldn't have even given these a thought if I hadn't picked up the sampler... Glad I did. IMO If they all taste like that I believe it must be the best tasting piramides you can buy ATM. Just need to find the money to pickup a box.
polarbear Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 If we're talking 2013 box codes it'd be a tie between The La Flor De Cano and a March 2013 RASS
Ted Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 RyJ Churchill I had on the beach of Varadero this summer =)
Diamondog Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Monte 520 has really been above all else so far...
Wil Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Monte 520 has really been above all else so far... +1
CurtisEss Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Mine was definitely a Punch Super Robusto (2007). It was just a phenomenal smoke with a very clear evolution too. I can't get started or else I'll go on and on...
